I finally got around to posting my finished model. The model is painted in acrylics and washed with Raw Umber oil paint - this is the first model I completed with an oil wash and I really like it, from now on I will be doing all my washes with oil paints. The bridge is depicted in a half deployed position, or what I suspect to be the way it was deployed - there are no photos or documentation of this so I had to guess on how this thing worked. The boards are painted green on the bottom and black on the top, with a light grey wash to show the woood texture.

This model was completed for M,S,G campaign and the AMPS, where it won Gold in the intermediate category! Over all I am happy with this model, but if not for AMPS, I would have added more things to it: the tow cables, dust on the bottom, and maybe even a nice bace. However, I didn't plan my building time and was frantically trying to finish the model during the first day of the contest. A sort of dissapointment and at the same time pride came at the show. The last day, just before the awards ceremony - me and my dad and brother decided to go to Aberdeen Proving Grounds and when we came back, we found an FSM "We want to photograph your model" panthlet beside the model, I've checked(waited/hoped) for that panthlet for 2 days and now when we left for just a half an hour the photographer decided to take pictures of it - to my horror, the photographer was already gone and I've missed a chance to have my model featured in FSM... Oh well, I guess there's always next time.

As usual, any comments are appreciated, but I might not read or reply to them very soon because I might not have acces to a computer this week.

Oh, almost forgot, here's my first post of the modifications I made to it: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/44247&page=1

WOW Paul That is one nice build. Its a shame you missed the FSM photographer. You did a great job with the wood planking. I have heard that the assembly for the bridge delivery system is backwards. Any ideas on this?

Thanks Scott! Hm, the bridge backwards - do you mean that the arms would swing the other way? That would actually make sense because that would mean that the bridge would deploy to the front - the way it is logically supposed to be, I don't know, every other model that I've seen had the arms the way I have them, so I guess majority wins...

Yes thats what I meant. The bridge deploys in a very strange way. Well with little or no photographic evidence I guess you have to go with the way the directions tell ya.

I suspect that ICM/IDK skimped on research when they made the IT-28, the few pictures of the bridgelayer I've seen show a industrial size chain-drive which launched the bridge off the top of the tank.

Hi David - would it be possible to somehow see those pictures? Do you mean that the cables in the model are really chains? Do the winches look like the ones in the kit? What about the arms of the bridge - are they reversed like Scott said?

Pavel, the IT-28 pictures are in the 'Steel Fortress' book mentioned in this thread (sparked when I went Googling for IT-28 pics)

It's been a while since I looked and I can't remember any details.
