That looks like a great build. I picked up the Tamiya 88 for $15 just before they announced the Dragon release

Looks Great Tim. The first picture the trailer tire looks to be a little off? Or is it just the photo?

THANKS guys!

I have been working away at this one... and really enjoying myself.

Scott, good eye on that one... the tires and many of the other subassemblies are simply not glued in place... I like the look of a model all 'built up' without paint; however, if i glue everything in place there's no way to paint the underside of that trailer... so the tire might have slipped a bit.

Looks great Tim. Good idea with the sub-assemblies too. Nice clean build you have going here.

I got my Dragon 88 this past weekend, and got to open this baby up at the coffee hour at my shop. Simply an amazinng kit in the box. The kind of kit that would make you stop all other modelling projects just to start on this one !

Must have made an impression on the other customers present, and now I'm sold out. Will have to wait until the end of this week for a restock. Good thing I planned ahead

Keep sending us pics ! Your're doing a great job so far !

Cheers !!

I guess I can count myself as lucky that I never got around to buying the Tamiya version. After seeing this build, I know I never will.
Its great to see a nice clean build and what you actually get. Thanks for sharing the pics Tim. Looking great. Keep us posted with updates, please.

Hi, Thanks for your excellent photos of this new kit. Just got mine this past week end and it does look a tad bit intimidating by the instructions. But with folks like yourself posting pictures of your completed work, it helps others of us to get a somewhat better idea of how to go about working on it. The details on this thing are just super. A kit to definitely go slow on and savor as we go along. And at a price, I got mine for $27, a person can, and most likely will, find themselves building more than just one, provided they can come up with some different figures to go with it, which I sure are in the 'pipeline' somewhere from the aftermarket folks as we speak.

Yes, the Tamiya kit is dated by around 30 years or so, but it is still a very nice little model to build in it's own right. And there are some very good PE sheets out to up-grade the Tamiya kit as well.

Thanks and take care, Sgirty

Thanks!... this has been a really fun build... the kit is definitely a great value and I'll be build more than a couple :-) :-)

Yes, there are quite a few updates for the Tamiya kit; however, I can not wait for the update sets that will come for this kit... I am hoping that Lion Roar, Voyager, Aber, Royal Models and Eduard all release sets... so that we have tons of choices and can build the most detailed models.

Tim

Hilbert, whatever you see it is NOT flash. There just isn't any on this kit. Nor can I see any on these pics. Tim's doing a great job and credit where credit's due. Explain where you think you can see flash please.
