Hey all!

According to this website CJ7s and YJs in the Canadian Forces the Canadian Forces used CJ7's for military purposes in the period of 1981 - 1983.
The article does give some info, but not very much.

Therefore I am very interested in reference pictures of this (actually a civilian) vehicle in military service for I'm planning to build a scale model of it.
- Does anybody have some reference pictures or drawings I can use?
- Or does anybody know where I can find them?
- Did the CJ7 had a different designation in the (Canadian) army?

Please help me out!!!
Thanks in advance!

Paul

The ones we had at CFB Kingston in the mid-70s were hard top CJ-7s painted gloss green and totally stock in all other aspects. They were used mostly for wheeled driver training by the vehicle safety section. The only other time I used them was in the Sinai where they were assigned to members of UNMOG in our camp.

These vehicles were also used by the Militia (Reserves) until well into the 80s.

You might have some luck if you contact these folks:

My unit had them up to '89 (when I left). The ones we had were dead stock, soft top and no black out lights. They also and stock all season tires(the tires sucked off road!)

They were painted a shade of olive drab and the soft top was black or olive green.

Hope this may help.I still kick myself for not getting pictures of all our vehicles we had.

Jim
