I finally found the cable to my camera so I could post a pic of my Academy M10;

Let's see if it posted. If not, It is in my 'Workbench' Photos.

I've basically got everything almost finished. Working on the turret and gun now. Painting soon. If the humidity here will drop below 90 percent.

Here is a photo. It is looking good so far. Any fit problems to speak of. I have never built this kit by Academy.

Yeah, a few. I don't know if it was a production problem or just my fitting the pieces together, but where the upper part of the hull fits to the lower, the front didn't want to fit flush with the bottom. (The area just infront of the drivers area.) The rear area of the lower was a bit longer causing the rear plate to not want to fit flush. Had to do some minor cutting and sanding. Looks like it will fit fine now.

Thats looking nice, Im at the same stage myself, I have had lots of problems with the fighting compartment floor, I glued the support legs into the locations for them on the hull floor but now its a least a quarter inch short of where it should be I tried to change it but its stuck fast this put the engine compartment to far back i had to carve half of it off so it would fit , then the rear ammo rack comes up short so i had to build a new rack for them other than that its a nice kit

looking good...

I myself have just finished up the lower hull and am starting on the turrent.

So far i've had no fit problems with my kit and it also is the academy kit. unless you count fiddling with all those darn ammo tubes a fit problem. I think mine could have been neater but oh well you won't see much of it when finished.

how has the turrent gone for yall i've just started with assembling the main gun.

Yeah, those ammo holders wer a b&#@h. I tried doing one by gluing in the rack and then inserting the tubes. That didn't do well at all. The last three I put together and then placed them. And I think that's what I did as far as putting in the floor. Made the rest stick out the back a bit too much.

I have to agree with you on the fiddly-ness of the ammo tubes, but the main problem I find with the Academy M10 (and this is the third one I've done) is the fit of the turret walls... there is always an issue getting them to line up and fit at the right places, particularly where the sides meet the mantlet bit. Apart from that I love them!

Whoops- the boss arrived unannounced so had to curtail that last post a bit.
yeah, Academy M10 turrets. I can't recall if the Achilles is like the Duckbill version, which is made up of less parts so should have less of a fit problem.
That was all I had to add !

I'm just now getting to the turret. I'll be finding out it that's a problem very shortly. Thanks for the heads up.

Got the turret finished. I did have to putty the side panels a bit where they met the rear section and the front. Didn't turn out too bad.
