Hi guys, i'm getting fustrated by the problem i'm facing now.
The olive drab + buff i sprayed on my hellcat doesnt look 'right' (it looked more of like a brownish colour) so i tried to filter it with Flat green and guess what, it turned REALLY green something like russian armour colour.
Then an 'accident' happend and the paintwork at the back of the chassis is ruined.
I guess i'm just not cut out to be an olive drab guy
What can i do to salvage the situation? What is the CORRECT colour ? I use Tamiya colours.

I should remove all paint. and paint it again.
I'm not an expert on modern colour schemes, but I guess it should be dark green. Or olive drab, that is a colour what the nations used a lot.

Mate what paint did you use? I use Humbrol # 66 OD and for a faded look mix a little bit of white with it.
If yopu are unhappy with your paint job do not be afraid to use Oven cleaner or similar to strip it and then redo the paint job.
I have done this a few times myself and it is better if you do this then just to put it away as you are disappointed with it.
cheers
Cliff

Thats a ww2 vehicle it would be olive drab, Steve Zaloga did a article in Military modelling on Olive drab he says Tamyia O.D. with dark Yellow to lighten it is a good match for ww2 O.D. I use a tin of Humbrol Ochre wihich is a colour used in O.D. to drybrush onto panels where i want paint fade to show. hope this helps.

Have you considered........ a winter whitewash scheme...
I personally like the model master and testors Olive drabs... there are several different ones to choose from.. Testors olive drab.... MM FS....something and MM Ana 613.. which i'm using for my M10.. I also use tamiya buff on them as a "filter" with fairly good results.. and there is also MM faded olive drab.. the list goes on and on........

Thanks for the reply guys and sorry for my late reply. I'm on a 6 month residential training stint in the police academy so i only got the weekends off.
After a week and when i see the model again, it doesnt look that bad anymore, except for the 'stain' on the back which should be easy corrected.
Over here, Tamiya acrylics are easily available.
Thanks guys for the reply.
