OK, knowing that the end is near, and knowing that I will never get the four figures finished in time, I'm submitting my piece, without the figures. Eventually the figures will be mounted, (the little white dots on the path are where the pins on the feet will fit.)
Was a fun build, out of the box, except I scratchbuilt the two sets of web gear, one on the rear of the vehicle, one on the ground in front of it. I probably will add more abandoned equiptment when I finish the figures. I really don't like the 6 dollar net. Next time I'll dye my own.
More photos in my gallery, I'll be posting a few over in the Campaign gallery.
Hope you like it.
The "slogan" was translated by the ever useless on line translators.... Two gave me the same translation, one totally different.... so I went with the two alike. It's a play on the old "Kilroy was here!"......... hopefully it got translated correctly to read-------- "Bebe was here"

Nice Finish. Does that camo net look a tad white to you, or is it the photos?

:-) :-) :-) It's "suppose" to be tan....... cost me 6 bucks, and looked a lot better in the bag....... actually looked like a nice tan........ took it out, had red splotches, and blue splotches, and is closer to white, think they forgot to use dye..... :-) :-) :-)
6 bucks... what a jerk I was to pay that much for that piece of crap...... do I sound POed?????? Wish I could remember the company that made it...... not a very good product for the price.
Like I said, next time, I'll dye my own..... 2 bucks for a bag of cheese cloth, and a little time killed at work on the night shift....
6 bucks...... what a (feel free to fill in the blank.____________ jerk......... :-) :-) :-)

Dave
Nothing is lost!
You can use coffee or earl grey tea to dye it yourself, with little work
Nice job on the model and on the "Beebe was here" slogan
Go and attack the figures, please
Skipper

Well, yes, Grumpy, your writing does say Bebe was here, but in Russian, what you wrote reads as Bibi was here, literally. If you ant it to read Bebe was here, remove the lat '' i '' in Bebe. Also the handwriting of the crewman who wrote it is purely commoner, in Russian we say '' kak kuritsa Lapoi'' that means '' As if a chicken wrote it with its leg'', hehe , no offence, thats the way it should be.

The TD looks very nice Grumpy! I agree with Skipper, try staining the net with some really strong tea. Looking forward to seeing the figures.

Thank for the comments and advice.... will try to darken the netting in the future, as I really do finish up the figures...... (I really am one of the S--L--O--W--E--S--T... figure painters on the planet.
Volkov, thanks for the Russian lesson...... , I'm sure Gary would forgive me for the spelling error.......... :-) :-) :-)

Hey Grump,
Ya know what's cool, no matter how much you dislike the net, it really does a nice job distorting the weapon underneath it. I love your ground level shot, how cool!
Would it be possible not to throw in the towel and take it off and tea stain it?

Was it a Custom Dioramics net?
I have purchased the green and I have a tan still in the bag.I think staining may be a way to go,pluss, stick some leaves and branches in it.
nice RSO (++) (++)

Sorry Carl, I really do not recall who's net it was. It's possible it was CD's.
I did remove it, and darkened it a little with good old fashion NAVY coffee...... and replaced it. looks a little better.
Just got back from the craft store.... 6 yards of cheese cloth, (didn't know it came in 3 different meshes) and some Rit dye.... total cost was under 15 bucks..... now I'll dye my own at work on the night shift......... and have enough netting to last me a life time. ....... :-) :-) :-)
