Hey Alan! Its coming out preety good! I just have one advise: I think you will correct it, but the figs are too gloss!Maybe a matt coat on them? Also, maybe is the lightning, but your sand is a little gray
You can smell action in the whole scene...very well done

The work on the bunker is excellent - the camo net adds a certain something.
On the negative:
The sandbags. Dump them and replace them with scratchbuit ones - the Tamiya ones are too uniform.
The barbed wire is well out of scale. You simply wouldn't see a single strand of wire either - replace all of it and add more..
The groundwork needs to be much more convincing. To my mind at least, it looks like plaster, try using some actual (very fine) sand and break it up with some vegetation.
I would't be standing about if some one was firing a FT near me - nor would anyone be firing it a few feet away from a door. When a FT is fired, its is effectively liquid flame - it would spray all over the place so your positioning is unrealistic...
The figures - not a bad job with grossly inferior figures. Personally I would transfer them to the large spares box which is outside your house (and emptied every week) and start again. Look at the DML recent U.S. infantry sets and you'll see what I mean....Jim

Thanks for the comments. I am very happy with the progess so far but still have a ways to go to close out some of the smaller details.
The Tamiya sandbags were a gift from my godsons for Xmas and have to be used. They have been asking when I am going to build something with that set so... you know... replacing them would not be an option.
The entire dio was basically built from stuff already on hand (with the exception of the barbed wire where I could not find 34 gauge wire.) The goal was to build a small scene using figure, parts and materials on hand. It just got bigger and bigger so more parts came out of the spare parts bin. A number of compromises had to be made using stuff already available. I would have loved to use updated figures and parts but this was done on the cheap....
Some of the figures are still wet, some of the figures are glossy. I was not going to dullcoat them till I had everything done. I still plan on adding more rocks and boulders to the groundwork. I have some tall grass to add but currently I have run out of my supply so unfortunately a trip to the LHS will be required. BUMMER!

Alan...your dio is really starting to take great form..I really like it...Everything is coming together great. Your hard work is paying off..i like the placement of the figures..and as the dio is not completed yet...only one suggestion..do a dull coat on the figs..they appear to be a little shiny..
Great Job..and keep us posted... (++)
EDIT....it was brought to my attention..that it is clearly stated elsewhere that dullcoat on the figs will be done last...
Please excuse my inability to read your post throughly...lolol...SORRY ALAN>>
