Very good start. Just make sure your desert coats don't cover up the pre-shading. As is, it looks good now, but with a sand coat, it shall look great. Keep it up, and keep the pictures flowing!

Well last night I got up the courage to cover my kit with salt and sprayed the desert camo... Now there are no washes or any kind of weathering added yet ..I still have a bit of salt to remove and then the washes and filters are up next...
Comments are welcome ,I'm trying out new techniques for me and I want to know what you think...

I still have all the details to paint too like the straps on the fuel drums and stuff ..Just thought I'd mention it before someone tells me they aren't the right color.. :-
)
Thanks for looking

Bear,
What's up with the salt? Does it absorb the paint being sprayed on top, in this case the sand colour? I've used salt with watercolours and illustrating backgrounds but I didn't know it could be used with acrylics...I guess why not.
What's the technique?
Looks great, adds some randomn patterns very convincing.
Thanks in advance

Hi Peter ...well what I did was add a small bit of water to the tank with a paint brush ...I used sea salt and sprinkled it over the tank ..When the water had dried I sprayed the sand color and about a half hour later I took a rough paintbrush and brushed off the salt leaving the green show through underneath at the same time the paint brush removed some of the paint from the edges which looks good ..Bonus!
