I've been banging away at this one for the past three days and decided to enlist in the campaign to keep my going.

Some progress shots thus far:

Looking very good so far. Bet assembling all those road wheels was fun!

It is defenitely German.. but I have never seen it before.. Is this all resin?? Wich brand is it??

Looks good but I see some flash and a large gap at the bottom of the gun.

I hope you will make it in time!

looks good so far.. i like the pics #7 and #8 showing the gun and hull, without the top superstructure... it shows the details quite well.

an idea: can you complete the model (+paint/weathering and all) but in a way that the superstructure can be removed to show the entire gun breech and barrel? that would make an interesting display

The wheels were not fun....and I'm not really done with them yet - they still need sanding. Yuck.

The fit is almost good enough that you could remove the top superstructure to view the gun details after painting and weathering. A good idea.

Some more progress. This kit really is falling together as I only started it a few days ago.

Some nice tool and clasp detail:

The ready ammo rack left seperate to facilitate painting:

Probably little progress for the next day or two as I head back into 12 hour work days.

The ammo is included in the kit. It has enough to fill the ammo racks as well as some empty shell cases to litter the fighting compartment floor with if you so desire.

No figs though.....

I look forward to seeing you at the finish line. I like this shot of your model:

I think that is a neat feature.

Thanks guys...I think I am going to make this one.

I'm ready to prime already. Just adding some shots of the cannon with a figure for scale (yeah, now you see why I don't do figures).

A clearer shot of just the cannon:

And an overall shot prior to priming:

Hi Stuke,

I see you enjoy the build of your Sturer Emil. It's a great kit with beautifull details and interior.
To be true: I envy you! I ordered my L/61 'Sturer Emil' last june at my LHS. 043 (aka Eric Verberne) has snatched it away there right before my nose. The shopkeeper promised to order a new one, but untill now, no kit... Now I told him to shove it up his you know what...

(Well, at least 043 entered it also in this campaign)

Are you going to make the beast german grey or the dark yellow/green camo?

Paul

PS: I also like your figure! What's wrong with it????
