Hi Graeme,
I've enlisted, but haven't started, and still haven't decided on what I'll build.

With 7 months to go I haven't started. I'm considering several options but as most of my latest dios I will have to see what I can find in the stash. I don't want to go buy anymore stuff if I don't absolutely have to buy it

A big salute to you, Dave. I really liked your "Guntruck". I served as an UN-soldier in Lebanon in the late 80's and we built trucks like yours for escort duty on the Main Supply Routes.

Howdy All,
Please pardon the bad photo, but since Graeme asked, here's a quick pic of one of my WTTN entries......
It's one of the old Revell 'box-scale' kits of the Ashville Class armoured Gunboats that used to run around the muddy waters of Southeast Asia.
It's put together for the most part, I'm just at the point where I'm replacing some of the masts and railings with more scale-wise apropo metal wire and such. The forward gun turret and the rear gun emplacement are just balanced there for the pic. They have been left off for ease of painting.
Tread.

I agree, Dave's GT is a dandy isn't it?....But I didn't know GunTruck's of this style were still used in the late 80's..........I don't suppose you have any photos you could share with us do you?......I'm quite sure that many of us {animal included} would very much like to see them.......

Howdy Rui,
Yeah....I thought you might like my entry, especially since it's 'wet' in subject matter
Because of my other commitments I am trying to build this almost purely OOB, but the obviousness of the overly large kit masts and antenna's cannot go unchanged....
Tread.
Actually, I have a pic of one of these vessels while at anchor with an overhead tarp stretched across the bow section {ala pre-dreadnaught style}. I thought that that more relaxed pose created kind of a dicotomy against the normally speedy activity of the vessels everyday activities......

Hi all! I've decided to do a proper dio after years, and this one will be fairly large. It's gonna be a convoy ambush with three M113s, a guntruck, and a Mutt jeep on a dirt road with a strip of jungle on one side and paddies on the other. The VC/NVA will be blowing claymores, and firing MGs, RPGs, and maybe a mortar. There'll also be a Huey Hog overhead. Have bought all the vehicle kits and the chopper, but need some more VC/NVA. Will probably start early next month.

Howdy fellas,
Sounds mighty ambitious there spooky6, try to share build photos with us. There are some wonderfully helpful folks here who can help you with any 'accuracy' issues you might encounter.....
And speaking of photos, got any piccies of your Swift Steven?
regards,
Tread.

I have one shot that I took when I posted a thread in Warships. Since then I ripped out the interior two other times (for a total of 5 times)and started over. However, this I think is the final evolution ( It looks right this time)and I'll have some new photos here pretty soon.
Any Tango or Ironclad updates from you soon? I'm seriously anxious to see how they've been coming along.
See ya
Steve

Howdy again fellas,
95bravo said: "...Any Tango or Ironclad updates from you soon? I'm seriously anxious to see how they've been coming along....."
Actually Steven, I do have some new photos of the Ironclad {U.S.S. Choctaw} build I'm doing and will be posting them soon.
As to the Tango build, I also have some pics of it as well. But the thing is with my Tango project {and actually a couple of other projects} is, that I have expanded on the original idea of just building the boat, and instead have shifted to building a 'core' hull that can be used for both a Tango boat and a Monitor boat. You see, the hull height for the Monitor boat is much lower than the Tango configuration. The ATC (H) versions hull height, or deck level is almost two feet (scale-wise) higher and has a slightly different final deck shape/finish. So I'm trying to kill multiple birds with a single throw of the stone........
The potential 'upside' {at least for those few who might be interested} is, that I plan to make available copies of my historically correct hull project to those who want one here at Armorama for just a few Farthing's.....
And I suppose this is as good a place as any to apologise for the 'slowness' of the Project's progress, but unfortunately the Spring/Summer is my busiest season!
Just to give you an idea though how much I'm trying to get it done, I have been waking up at around 3:30- 4:30AM most mornings to try to do a little bit on each project.....I guess that's one of the 'good' things about getting old....you normally need less sleep...
regards,
Tread.
EDIT: What's with all the LSSC's lately?..........what, no PBR's? : - ) Somebody should scratch a sampan, it wouldn't be hard at all to do........skipper?, How about you? ; - )
EDIT Deux: And for purely entertainment purposes, here's an earlier pic of the length's I've gone to to wrestle with this thing.......
the eight across the back are the mini clamps holding the top edge, and the four across the bottom are full size carpenters clamps holding both sides together
.......just another crazy experiment.

Hi Gordon & the rest of the Gang!
First things first:
...The potential 'upside' {at least for those few who might be interested} is, that I plan to make available copies of my historically correct hull project to those who want one here at Armorama for just a few Farthing's.....
Yes, please! Count me in!
LSSC:
Since I already have a PBR made (early 90's, when it was released) and had a LSSC in the pyle, I choose this one - no particular LSSC Conquer the world situation :-)
Sampan:
Since MIG's Bronekater broke my finances, the sampan is intended to be scratchbuilt - are you a mind reader, Gordon?
Keep safe,
Skipper
