Finally finished these two beasts! The "Ferdinand" went together in a couple of days and I think I only had to paint it twice (not bad for me!),but the Jadgtiger was painted at least 4 times!, (just wasn't happy with the paint schemes) that pig fought me all the way...happy to finish her....but I'll probably build another.
Both kits are basically stock, the Jadgtiger having a bit of etch and some Fruils added (don't get me started on the original set of track!). Archer Fine Transfers, (the best!) provided the graphics for both vehicles.
Hope you like, feel free to comment and critique.
Cheers

Hi Peter,
I like the finish for both tanks, especially the weathering of tracks and road wheels. One comment though, the armor plate attached to the barrel of the Ferdinand is inverted -- the one on the bottom should be on the top...I hope you could still turn it.
Maybe you could also darken the tip of Jagdtiger exhausts. A small amount of black pastel chalk would do the trick.
Overall, I like both kits...
Cheers

those are two stunnig models!
But a few thing attract my attention, did you drill out the exhaust pipes??
The muzzle brakes were in those times always black.
Also what Warthog said, the exhaust pipes should black too.
Wich brand are these two kits?? And how did you make the foliage? It is done really nice.
Dio??

Peter,
2 great builds, I like them both. Paint and weathering is well doneThe foliage on the Jadgtiger is a nice addition. As the others have mentioned the exhausts on the Jadgtiger needs some work.
The Fruils turned out very nice. Did you use Blacken-it on them?

Nice work on both kits. I suppose these two are DML kits? The rough texture is a nice add-on. Did you put it or was it part of the kit?

Thanks for the kind words.
The kits are; DML for the Ferdinand and a Revell of Germany for the Jadgtiger.
The added extra texture is Mr. Surfacer stippled on. Although German armour for the most part has a smooth surface ( rolled steel)a little texture on a scale model gives the work some dimension and gives a place for the washes to go into.
The Fruil tracks where first hit with Tremclad Flat Black, then a Tremclad Grey , Tamiya Buff (60%thinner/40% paint) and then raw umber and burnt sienna oil paints.
I can't believe I installed the Ferdinands shield upside down, and missed the muffler tips.... all will be corrected though.
Thanks again for the encouragement
Cheers
