Thought you guys might enjoy seeing this. I started this Leopard for the Canuck Steel build last year and after dropping it I put it aside and worked on something else. Finally got back to it a few weeks ago and completed it. Hope you like it. Couple more pics of it in my gallery.

I love it.
I am not into modern stuff but I would like to the Canadian Leos one day. I have the old Italeri stashed away to do the C1 hopefully in the new year.
The cammo nets are great. You make them yourself?

Hi, Rob
Well I'm into modern stuff, and German Armour for sure, since we use them as well. Love your Leo, great work and good looking paint job. Is the Cam nets bandages and oregano?
Cheers

Rob, it was great meeting you at the AMPS contest. I hope you enjoyed it.
You have a great build there. I really liked the camo net. Could you elaborate on how you made it?

Thanks all yeah you caught me. I took bandages and colored them after this dried I cut the peices to the size I wanted and soaked them in white glue diluted 50% with water. After that all dried I went back put white glue on them and attached oregano which I got by raiding my wife's spice rack. Once that all dried I airbrushed some various greens on to blend it all together. This is the first time I tried it and I was pleased with the result. I plan to do more on some other moderns I want to build.
Was great meeting you also Brent I had a lot of fun yesterday and was very pleased this Leo netted a bronze. I haven't put anything in a show since I was a teen. I have a C1 conversion on the shelf along with the Italeri kit, HKCW tracks, and modelpoint barrel. Now I want the C1A1 conversion I see MLM has out.

The Turret is the Kit one with a Maple Leaf Models conversion. Basically it replaces a lot of the fittings and you cut off the rear armor and storage. The entire back end is from the conversion kit. Very nice conversions and they also have some M113 stuff which is suitable for non Canadian subjects.

Looks sweet. Can't tell if it's LdSH, Dragons, Crazy 8s or 12 RBC though.

Your C2 looks pretty good. I have a few suggestions for you to make it more accurate.
The foot holds on the side skirts need to be hollowed out, the side skirts on the Italeri kit have them blanked over.
The gun staves,(the rods mounted on the left side of the hull), should be a silver metallic colour.
The markings for the tank you have modelled belong to the Royal Canadian Dragoons, C Squadron, 4th Troop, the Troop Warrant Officer's call sign.
It's great to see modern Canadian armour flourishing.

Thanks Jason good suggestions I missed the footholds. Some of the tanks I saw had very bright silver cleaning rods but some other pics they were very dark so I went somewhere in the middle. they are lighter then the pic shows though (light problem I guess).

Where did the original kit come from? Also, is it hard to find a resin add-on kit to make the necessary changes? And thats one mean looking tank by the way.

Rob,
Don't feel bad about the steps I did the same thing on mine!! It looks great other wise.
Jordan ,the base kit is the Italeri Leopard 1 A4 now OOP.You can still find them on Ebay once in a while. The conversion parts are from Maple Leaf Models kit number MLM1010 . http://www.mapleleafmodels.com/

Fantastic work on your Canadian Leopard C2, there Rob. You have been telling me about this kit for months, so its a real treat to see in here on Armorama !
Excellent color scheme and subtle weathering looks really good. I really like the low-visability markings. Camo netting looks great too. Glad to hear you make out good with it
Cheers !!

Strange...this would make a really nice kit on it's own. Too bad it's so rare to find this kind of good stuff straight out of a box. Ah well, at least we can see what the skilled modelers can do!
