I was planning on declaring my Amphibs complete but when taking the pics I noticed two things still incomplete. Obviously there is no hidden Sherman Easter Egg this time as there is a big fat Sherman in the scene
This is my dio of the invasion of Iwo Jima. Disclosure: The Sherman was built previously but the LVT and the rest of the dio are brand new.
There is no IV line from the bottle to the wounded man
The Marine supervising the unloading of the jeep just to the left of the ramp was not mounted.

hehe.. he's just resting.
i didn't realize how big it is!
i think you should add more trash and bits, but i really like it!! the palm fronds are scratch built? what about the flattened boxes? good job and really neat with the black sand.

Looks like your dio is coming along really well Alan.
Definitely would weather your soldiers a little more to fit the base.
I cant recall but were there any trees during the Iwo Jima invasion?

This one is looking really well...i like the changes that you made to it from the original scene. It has really made a great impact. After seeing this one at this stage..i agree with you about needing more figures etc, and as G.I. Babycakes mentioned some more trash laying around.
Other than that..great job.

A comprehensive scene with a lot going on. A good effort.
Some thoughts for your consideration, --the debris looks a bit contrived, ie too strategically scattered about, ---if possible, try to sink some of the weighter items into the sand a little , and maybe cluster up some of the debris a bit.
Could be the pics, but perhaps some shading on the facial flesh would give the figures a less pale look-- although if the figs are fixed to the base, its probably too late for that.
The placement of the figs, especially the assault troopers close to the Sherman looks very good--very authentic set up.
Keep us posted as you fully complete this one. Congrats.
Steve
