hello,
I got myself the 1942 mod KV1 from Trumpeter.
And I just had to start it at once !
It is a model with a cast turret, so I reworked the turret lightly with glue and a stiff brush.
I also added the welding. It's done with evergreen styrene worked with glue and my good old modeling knife.
The figure is from miniart and it's head is from tristar.
So please tell me what you thik, good or bad !

I wanted to keep that build simple, so I didn't replace the engine grills.
I will certainly build another trumpeter KV, and I'll work more on the details !

Hey, Anthony! Great work on your KV-1! I'm up to my elbows in mine and have encountered some warpage at the right rear hull joint, in the vicinity of the upper hull overhang. I'll be able to work that out pretty easily; but all in all, Trumpeter did a great job on this kit. BTW, I bought an after-market barrel for the main gun and the muzzle is rifled. Aber made it, I think. It's good to see other modelers working on the same project and I wish you luck on your project. Best regards, Dave

Ciao penpen,
Looks really great so far. Yes, it definitely is a clean build. Can't wait to see the finished product! Keep us posted.

Hi , I am sorry to say but the white plastic weld line is not correct , It is a miss alignement of the two part mold used to produce the cast turret . It is infact cast metal that fills the void and is not definatly not a welding line . The reason is you cannot weld cast armour . This is based on 37 years of working in heavy industry .
I had to point this very thing out to several modellers at IPMS Nationals last weekend and all have believed the rubbish written about cast turrets esp on the multi faced T 34 turret . Please rubb your down and it will look better . cheers ian

Sorry anthony, i know by experience its impossible to get a weld using cast metal. So i shall agree to this statement
