We need more campaigns! Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Suez conflict! I suggest that we commemorate this with a campaign here on Armorama! Being an aircraft builder, I have mainly though of it as an aircraft campaign, and I have already suggested this on the aircraft forum. However, there were some pretty awsome armour involved on both the Israeli and the Egyptian side, and the more builders, the stronger the fumes from the glue...
Speaking of aircraft - The conflict included an extensive variety of early jets (and late props) from a wide range of countries. These are arguably some of the most beautiful - and coolest! - aircraft ever built. Just go through this list of aircraft, and tell me (honestly!) that your mouth does not drool and that your fingers don't start itching! You can see some examples at the bottom of this post.
If it becomes an aircraft campaign, the rules will be very simple. Any aircraft participating in the conflict (and marked as such), in any scale. You may choose English, French, Israeli or Egyptian aircraft. Historical accuracy is key! If it becomes a general campaign, the rules will be similar (i.e. any vehicle, soldier, boat or whatever, particitpating in the conflict... )!
I suggest that the campaign will start in May and end on the eve of the 50th anniversary, i.e. the 28th of October (when the first kill was made by an Israeli Meteor NF.Mk13).
Please tell me if you support this campaign idea! If you have any ideas for improvment, let me know!
Cheers!!! :-)
