I was wondering if anyone has thought about this or if it currently going on, but would anyone be interested in doing a campaign based on "what if" stories? For example, what if Germany invaded England, a potential diorama could be street fighting in London, or even American troops defending beaches in California from invading Japanese. Yes, yes I know these are wild and outlandish ideas but figured they could make for some interesting dioramas, vignettes and models. Comments and criticism is welcome!

Every year there is T2K campaign featuring futuristic what if's. It's not as speciric as Germany invading England. T2K 2005 is ending at the end of the year of course. T2K 2006 is in the planning stages now

Like the idea.....a "what if" based campaign , for example, in the flick "Fatherland", eastern front in the 60´s, maybe a Leopard 1 with WWII style cross or a Super Panther, lots of possibilities. Maybe a group build if the campaign proposal is not accepted

What if's--my favorite.
Five nice simple ones out of my idea notebook (at random):
German recce vehicle in Moscow, in front of Lenin's tomb.
Allies -Red Army fighting in Germany in September 45.
US unit captures Hitler.
M26 rolling through a breach in the Great Wall
And favorite (as its the most absurd)
Royal Marines landing in NYC to "take back the American colonies"

I like the idea! You could limit it to WWII type stuff or even go so far as having the Cold War "breakout". I think that the WWII type stuff would get the most interest and greatest response. As far as ideas for that goes:
A U.S. invasion of the Japanese mainland?
Hitler's atom bomb with new bomber?
German troops capture of Stalin?
The U.S. "Atlantic Wall"?

This "alternative history" campaign or group build should be very open, as I said before, a cold war between USA and Germany, longer WWII, modern era outcome, and so on.....very open to the modeller´s imagination, almost no restriction (in modelling area, of course....), it will be only fictional.....

As I said before, should be an open one. A few ideas:
- M48 Patton fighting against an early Leopard 1 in France...Normandy in 1967 perhaps???
- IS2 Stalin against a Panther II in Moscow 1947
- Japanese Panthers defending Tokio against Pershings in 1948 (Possible US landing in that year)
- Cromwell and Shermans in street fighting in London, against Pzkw IV in 1942
- Operation Rheinübung with Bismark, Tirpitz, Graf Zeppelin and Prinz Eugen as Task Force????
- Shooting Star in dog fight with Salamander in 1946 over Berlin....
yes, I liked this idea....sort of T2K but between 1939-1970. I volunteer to write some backstory Just love what if´s :-) :-)

I don't know why a German victory in WW2 would exclude a modern what-if.
Perhaps there is still a resistance group fighting off Nazis in 2006

I was thinking a Confederate Infantryman armed with either an AK/RPG or German WWII gear, would this be acceptable?

Maybe if we all give ideas to stablish a divergence point in history, and make some kind of ad-hoc timeline, we could make the according modelling subjects....Wow, it´s not my idea after all, the guy who initiated this should make his own proposal.

Guns Of The South eh? You must be a Harry Tutledove fan
So many possibilities Like a Sherman Jumbo with a 17lbr or a 105mm howitzer
Not too mention the E100 or Maus super tanks Or a Centurion Mk I in action

I don't know that a T-72 in Wyoming is such a stretch. There a rich idiot on the other side of town that has himself a former Polish T-55 and can be seen tearing up the back 40 when he gets bored.
