The base kit is the Tamiya T-72. resin converison is AEF designs. Wiring/ additional details are scratchbuilt. There is a lot of AM that is not evident in the photos, so I will list it here : Eduard PE, Karaya tow cables, Miniarm resin roadwheels, friulmodel tracks and a modelpoint turned metal gun barrel. The conversion provided glacis plate is totally useless and inaccurate, so I scratchbuilt a new one. There is a scratchbuilt driver's compartment I am working on, but I don't have pictures of it. So far I am only about 35 hours of work into the project, so there is still a lot to be done. Please tell me what you think!

For starters, you are a braver man the I for even attempting to use the AEF conversion. I learned my lesson in regards to the junk that has come from AEF over the years. Your glacis plate looks a little rough, but it might be due to the lighting and being a little blurry. The rest of it looks ok so far. Good luck on the conversion. "Q"

What was the bad experience you had with AEF Red4? Care to share with us. I am also tempted to do T-90 conversion.
IronFelix, keep up the good work. Will be following your progress.

Nice start and already a good looking thing.
I did mine from the Terres Modeles conversion set. I think it's better even not fully accurate too. This gives room to do some scratchbuild.
The sooner you'll finish it, the sooner plastic manufacturers will release their own :-)
Good luck

It would be easier to list the products that I have not had problems with. For years AEF has turned out some very interesting subjects. The problem that I found though, is that the products were either removed from their molds too soon, not checked for quality or just poorly cast. A lot of the kits that I have seen over the years have some real issues. Warpage, short shots, broken pieces, wrong pieces etc. I have bought one piece in all the years that I have been building that was just useable. I still had a lot of clean up to do as well as a large amount of scratch building. AEF is a one man operation. Every other AEF product I have, I have either got at a substantial discount or free. If you really want some of his products I would highly suggest you physically look at the items before hand. I cannot emphasize this enough.
I have the Terres Models conversion set as well, and while it needs work also, it is far above the AEF offering in my book. Hope this has shed a little light on the subject. "Q"

I'll second that. the conversion I have is garbage. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the glacis plate is indeed a little rough, but I'm hoping that once i add the finishing touches to it and it gets painted it'll look a little better.
