Hi all,
having read the excellent article by Vodnik a while ago I was sure I will start modifying the Tamiya kit.
After gathering extra documentation, here I am.
I started by the side skirts, the transmission front housing and the rear wall with the rear bins supports.

this pic shows on the right side how the upper hull should be after being corrected. The gap will be fixed when glued.

More pics in my gallery in the Current project folder.
Any comments welcome

Good start Olivier.

I take it those pages from the parts manual I posted helped out aslo?

Hopefully, this weekend, I can get some work done on my Bradley.

Oups,
I'm so sorry to have forgotten what you did for the research work.
The rear wall documentation is at your credit too.
Thanks again

Credit, BLAH! Just glad it helped out.

I'm using Pawels article too. I might have to redo my side skirts after seeing yours. Thank god I have another Bradley that I got from Gino for a trade. Bad thing is that I already added the photo etch handels and side steps and the ERA on them. I'll have to see what i can do.

Question? When you seperated the side skirts, did you thin them down?

Oh, just to let you know, I am gonna try and cut away the trim vane on the hull. It's the rounded part that follows arounf the hull. Pawel has a picture in his artile that shows what it looks like with out this on the real thing, and my Bradley I have here in the bay is missing the trim vane also.

Not much to comment on yet, but this is definatly a project I will follow closely, since I have the same Bradley somewhere in my stash. Keep us posted.

...and Pete, don't forget to work on the roll of toilet paper for your M 1025... :-)

Cheers
Erik

Hey Olivier, Oh and Erik too,

I'm not sure if you seen these before, but here they are again. There can never be enough reference material.

Anyways, here is my turret with some help from Pawels article and of course the real thing I have out back.

Here is that dreaded "HOLE" that is in the right underside of the turret.

Here is my Photo Bucket album URL. I have more pictures of the "HOLE" there and some other stuff that might be handy.

EDIT: Oh I forgot, Gino has done some nice Bradley's too. I've seen his several time to see what I have missed or can add to mine.

Erik, I'll work on that roll of "#@it paper" this weekend too. I plan on finishing that one this weekend.

Well,
that seems we are a lot in this project now. Could have been a campaign on its own !

For the skirts, I used the kit ones. I wasn't brave enough to do as Pawel. So I thinned them down to 0.3mm that is the thickness of the plastic card provided by Tamiya in their kit.
The spacers are of the same thickness but looking at Pawel's article they could be slightly thicker.

Now, the pain is to figure the right angle for the rear bin support plate once the kit part is away ! I have to use my Eyeball Mk1.

Epi, your turret looks great so far. I intend to present the uparmored gunner hatch. Do you have any pic of the hinge ? I think that thickening the hatch itself won't suffice. The hinge is probably different to cope with the added weight.

Olivier, ask and you shall recieve. I will look through the manual here in a second and post the picture.

I don't know what picture or where I looked for my hatch.

Be back in a few.

Told you to give me a second Olivier! I just built right over the old hatch.

Here is the Up-Armored Gunners hatch.

Just so you can compare, here is the older style Gunners hatch.

Yup, pretty much. All the manuals are put on disk, ETM(Electronic Technical Manuals). It's pretty much every TM, MWO, LO, etc. that the US Army uses. But there are some things that I am not allowed to give out or show, you know, security reasons and what not.

Hi all,
here is the latest update and probably the last of the year

sorry for the blurry pics but I used another camera with an anti-shaking system

Some more pics in my gallery/current project.
I think I'm finished with the back of the vehicle so I started enhancing the front armor plate but will stop during my holidays. (Can't go to my holidays location with my modeling gear, SWMBO won't like that for Xmas)

Any comments welcome
