First attempts at rust chips. I was quite pleased with the results. The machine gun needs to be repainted as it was shot with "dust" paint. I bought this kit for half price as somebody had knicked the figures. Hopefully IŽll find some suitable as I think it needs figures to bring it to life. I will build some storage for it now as well. Opinions appreciated!
All the best. /Frank

That's a fine set of chips on the grill. They look very convincing. I like them very much.
Be uniform in application and weathering, remember to add chips to the lights and bumpers etc.

Thanks for the words and advice guys. There are chips on the bumpers but covered over with dust and not visible in this photograph. Maybe too much dust!!
I used humbrol "German red brown"and a little flat black 80/20 for the chips. I roughly dry brushed these areas with gun metal first.
I didnt take too much care to get a perfect result, but wanted to see how it would turn out. I wont be afraid of trying this again.

I love the chipped paint on this baby, they are very convincing, especially for a DAK vehicle which is always chipped because of the weather.
Another thing I like the most about this model is the tires. I think they looked great too.

I think it turned out excellent. I went this route with the same two kits.
