I am currently mucking up the running gear and wheels, etc. Do I need to make the mud darker?

Tapper:

Looks good to me. Dont forget that when mud dries, it tends to go lighter.

wow a stunnishing model!! I have no comments at all.
I like those dents on the schurzen.

And no, you don't have to make the mud darker (for what I can see on the pictures)

Cor she's a bewdy Tapper!
Really looks natural the way it is. I think to alter it or add more would only detract from the great job you've done to this point...
Cheers

Looks just fine to me, not overdone or anything - just right. Dark =wet mud, pale =dry.

It depends, will you be putting it on a base/diorama? It should match the groundwork, so if it's sat in fresh mud you should have at least a small amount of darker, fresh mud on top of this. If it's not to sit in fresh mud, but say on a street or on sand, this is looking great.
And I agree with the others, you have achieved a very convincing and pleasing finish for your Panther.

Cheers

Love it. As others have said, it's a great tone for dry dirt/mud. You could go darker for wet mud, but it looks nice as is.

Incidentally, I really like the holes in the schurzen (sp?). Very sweet.

Great looking Panther you have there Tapper!

Nice weathering too. Like the rest, the mud is fine from the picture. Don't need to make it darker.

Now get the tracks on! Looking forward to the completed kit.
