Hi Fellow Armorama-ers,
These are the in-progress pictures for my Nashorn, it's the old DML Nashorn with Eduard PE sets, Commander Resing upgrade, and Judio Barrel. Thank you Avukich for getting the AM stuff for me. Any comment will be appreciated.
The floor plate and fuel cap, the old Nashorn was grossly undetailed in this area.
The commander Nose and Gun Shield, they correct the error in original kit's rivet arrangement on the nose as well as give a more detailed gun shield
A night's work, with fenders installed, and details added to the nose
I am extremely happy with how the tiny wires comes out for the gun support, this is the wire that can be pulled inside of the AFV, to quick release the gun support for action.

Nice looking construction job. I am so proud that you are using so much aftermarket stuff #:-)
It looks like you have used alot of putty. I assume it was a tough build.
Looking forward to seeing it painted,
Andrew

Dave I was about three millimeters away from being real mad at you for rubbing the new Nashorn in our faces, but then I realized you had done all this with the old one, so I guess I can only applaud you. Good show, old man.

Looks like some insane work you got going there. I see that you are a glutton for punishment, especially knowing that a new Nashorn is coming out soon. :-)

Guys,
Thank you for your comments. I am dare to say that I probably is the first one in this site got the new Nashorn, 3 of them. The reason I still tackle this is that first I always have a soft spot in my heart for Nashorn, second, I don't like to waste kits, 3rd, I like to some how do what my good friend Adam Avukich did with his old Tamiya Stug IV to make this dog somewhat a decent model....hence, I punish myself....I am crazy, what can I say more....

Davidus.........what can be said other than,WOW! I did see this beauty in the backround of your FAMO post (AHHHHHHH.........FAMO!!!!!!).With knowledge of the old Hummel, AM was the only logical solution for building a proper Nashorn.Your work is an example to us all. That being,"While the Grilfreind/Wife is away, the Modeller builds away!"

Great work again SS. I think its great to tackle a kit and make it work. It gives a lot of personel satisfaction.
Its amazing how many people have sold old kits here lately. Out of the last 10 kits I have bought, only three of them have been new from the shop. Crazy really. But I see it as my favour getting a kit for about a third of its original price. Although Im not into perfection in details, there are some really cool older kits that with a little work, make a great model!

Thanks guys for your kind comment. It's fun to build this Nashorn. The kit is not as bad as many reviews had said, and the AM parts are much easier to work with, at least Eduard didn't try to make the fuel cap workable....
Will post more pictures when som more progress are made.
Plastic, totally agree with you, nowadays, we are a bit spoiled, with all the new kits coming along, some of the old ones are not bad with a bit more work.

Dave,
had to chime in here, even if it's been a couple of days.
You are a man after my own heart. I ahve this Commanders kit, three different Nashorns, Modelkasten tracks, and of course, the barrel.
Just waiting to get around to this.

Hi Dave , way to go on the construction. I know this will turn out to be
one fine model !
- Hey, as far as I'm concerned you have the right attitude, and I'm quite the same way;
.......I don't like to see a kit, no matter how old, go to waste.
And that old kit/new kit thing ........... it all comes down to what you put into a model and
modeling skills that make's it a good build ---- and your doing just fine !
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh .....AM accessories are worth their weight in gold ! "
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ! I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE.
Merry Christmas
- ralph
