Hey all,
Finally it is finnished; the 100 cm long K5 diorama.
It represent 4 canadian soldiers examening one of the K5 railguns left behind by the retreating Germans at Sluiskil, The Netherlands 1944.
For those who doesn't know yet: it was a project 043 (Eric) and I (007) both worked on together (and actually for the Walcheren '44 Campaign).
The whole diorama:
Some details:
More in the gallery K5 at Sluiskil.
Thanks for looking!
Paul and Eric

Very nice piece of work on this monster kit. Everything works well together. Nice landscaping and setting. Overall, there's a excellent feeling of realism here. Kudos!

Nice Job Guys. The scene tells a great story. The ground work is very well done and the addition of figures really puts this beast into perspective.
Two thumbs up

An excellent dio. The addition of the figures and the jeep really shows the true size of the railway gun.
Well done.

Hi Paul and Eric. Although I love both the vehicles and the groundwork.... I must be honest and point out something.
The groundwork is very lush/alive which one would expect to see in wet or humid conditions. The Leopold, jeep and figures appear to be very dry and dusty and don’t appear to be natural to the environment. The weathering between both, isnt consistent. A small nit-pick maybe in an otherwise excellent dio.
The jeep could be explained by having just got there, but the Leopold having lay there some time maybe should be less dusty??? Maybe an enamel filter, with a little satin cote mixed in might be enough to make it more natural?

Thanks also!
@Frank (Plasticbattle): yes, I see what you mean.
Actually, the Beep had to be a jeep that I had build, but I forget to take with me when we took the pictures, so we had to take a model from Eric's showcase.
But you are right about the dusty look. I think we are a bit scary to use some glossy effects on the models...
