Yes, its finally done! After sitting on the benc for quite a while, I finally finished it. For those who haven't seen some of my inprogress photo's of it, this is Tamiya's M1025 with Blast OIF add on kits and wheels and Nemrods figures. The base is from Custom Dioramics and I finally got enough nerves to use Migs weathering powders.

I entered it in Fiesta Con this past weekend and it took first place in the Softskins catagory.

And yes, that is a roll of TP. Hey, a soldier has to take a break sometimes.

Pete, this is awesome. I liked it as a stand alone and love it on the road. Your courage at trying something new was well rewarded I see from the first place award.

Plus the sign on the grill and the TP always make me smile.

BTW Rob, the shoulder flags, are from Echelon. Pete here did a review

absolutely Jeff. No misuderstandings there.

Just the idea of attaching the tapes and flags to paper first, then cutting and sticking the pater to the miniature, to give a little more depth to them ; could look good

Am planning a troop carrier Humvee from desert storm......scratchbuild a figure or two for it

Very nice... the Humvee turned out great. Those Blast updates really make a difference; the figures add a nice touch and a sign is a great detail... I love it.

Good job on the road. I like the colors and the dusty look...

Well done,
Mario.

Hi Pete,
sorry to tell you I don't like this one !

Just kidding :-) As usual your work is excellent and it seems you mastered those MIG powders ! It's a pity you come too early for the Humvee campaign which is on the way.

And now, I'm eager to see your Brad finished. Mine is complete waiting for good daylight conditions so I can shot clear pics.
I'm in the process of writing some words about the build and the "conversion" into a more accurate ODS vehicle. Are you still content with a "four hand" article displaying both our Brads ?

Was there ever any doubt you would get first place for this entry???

Fantastic job on the humvee dude. I actually used your in progress shots as reference for mine.

Regarding your nemrod figures....never ever having seen it before, is that one of the few brands that sells modern figures with the figures wearing the flak jackets?

Most lines have figures w/IBA now. Blast, Warriors, Verlinden, Nemrod, Alpine, CMK, etc. in resin. Trumpeter and Dragon have it in plastic.

Crap i didnt look hard enough then. Do you have the Dragon item number for these modern figures? Dragon products are easy to find here but not so for the rest.

Dragon's Modern US Marines, #3027.

Here's another tip. You can use the torsos from the above set and mix them with any figure in BDUs, especially Dragon's older, ODS era figures, to get different poses and figures.

Good luck.

Sorry guys for responding so late. I was in a HAZMAT class all day.
First, let me thank all of you guys for your nice words!!!! Now on to answering specific questions and comments.

Zach,
Don't get all sentimental on me now Zach!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gino,
Thanks for answering Jeremy's question for me.

Jeff,
Thanks for answering RobH's question for me!!!!

GOD I LOVE THIS SIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Olivier,
I am hard at work on the Bradley as we speak. I want to have it finished by the end of April for the Austin show and of course have it done for the campaign. As for the article, I definately would like to write an article together with you. I think it would be cool for the reader to have an in depth article on one vehicle biult different ways by two different people.

John(Jlmurc),
The base is a polyfoam base from Custom Dioramics. Tamiya paints and Mig powders was all I used. I sprayed flat black over the entire base, then I mased off the road section and sprayed Buff over the sidewalk area. after that, I unmasked the road area and sprayed in a cloud pattern sky gray to lighten up the flat black. I masked off the edge of the curb and painted it flat yellow and flat white. then I masked off all the white stripes and painted those flat white and the same for the yellow stripes. After all that was dry for about a day, I used Vallejo Flat Black and made a wash and spread that all over the base. It toned down the colors very well. I sealed the base with Testors Dullcoat and set it aside for a few days to dry really good. Here is wear I used the Mig powders. Even though Mig has a Gulf War sand powder, I didn't have it at the time, so I used the Beach Sand powder. In the crevices and the edge of the curb, I placed the powder and touched it with a Alcohol loaded brush. It dried pretty fast and left what you see here. The rest of the base was dusted with the powder. Any excess was just brushed of till I got the look I wanted.

Hope I got every one.
Keep them coming!!!!
