Hello
Here are the first few progress pics of my KV big turret. Currently waiting on some PE bits and a new barrel so moving onto the figures. A couple of the shots show what i'm hoping to achieve, German soldiers examining an abandoned KV.

Nice KV. I like the way it is shaping up. The figures definately add to the scene. What figs are u using?

Hi
Yes the idea was mainly for scale and I also need some practice with figures. They are Dragons gen2 Germania division. Seems like I can make a fairly plausible scene without chopping them about too much. I will swap a couple of the non-standard weapons tfor an MG34 and an MP40.
It's probably a bit made up anyway, i dont think from (what i have read) that the KV big turret saw action against the Germans as it was deployed against the Fins, but i'm not fussed.

I know LionRoar are doing a pe set with barrel (LE35060) but i cant get hold of that so i have ordered eduard's new KV-2 set. I have also ordered the Aber barrel for the Tamiya KV-2. This fits with a little bit of work (mentioned on Perth Model website as well as in Military In Scale magazine). I have ordered the barrel from Historex in the UK.
Hope that helps

How are the link and length tracks to work with? I have yet to experience those, so I'm curious. Thanks.

They fit together well, they basically slot together making it less likely they will pull apart as you try to bend them. Its my first trumpeter kit and i dont know if its just me but my revell cement reacts very well with trumpeter plastic, i hardly had to wait any time before they had dried well enough to shape around the tracks. As shown in the pic they are springy enough to take off the wheels for painting, proved i get the top lengths sorted ok i will be able to avoid after market ones.
