Hi all,
here is the interior of the TOW vehicle. The kit is Tamiya with Eduard PE set which is a real pain. Not recommended to beginners

It is painted interior green with a tan exterior. Up to now, I haven't done a lot to the exterior.

Here is one picture, other in my gallery/my workbench

By this time frame, which safety belts system was in use, the one with 2 or with 3 attachment points ? Both are provided in Eduard set.

Comments welcome, especially about the colors.

Looking good so far. Most HMMWVs had the 3-point belts by OIF. Some still had 2-point though. It is up to you, neither is wrong. Good work, keep us posted.

Looks smart! I love the eduard etch set-I think its a real beauty, the interior looks very dull without it. You've done a good job on this one-look forward to seeing it finished.

Thank you Gino and Rob.
The Eduard set is looking great but is a pain to build IMHO. It is not for beginners as I stated above. I got trouble fitting the brackets on the floor with the Tamiya missile storage rack. I think the millimeter lost with the side plates in the cargo bed is the reason why.

Just a question about the way of fixing the PE frame to the windows : did you use CA glue or anything else? As I don't want to get this white veil on the clear part often got with CA, I intend tu use Crystal Clear.

Sorry for your Humvee campaign but I think I could not be in. I'll probably deploy to Chad as this time and won't be able to keep on modeling and maybe visiting the site as well

Dear Olivier
Concerning the Windows frame, i just CA glue but i just dry a little the glue on the PE in order to avoid the gaz release that whiten the plastic

I hope that this will help you

Olivier
If you end-up with the white traces you can clean it with the specific solvent for CA.

Cheers

Really good. Despite the pain of the PE set, it still looks enhanced. My only recommendation at this time would be painting the straps more of an OD to highlight it.

I am also assuming that the rear hatch will be open?

Thanks Jeff and all others.
The interior is not weathered nor finished yet. The rear hatch will be closed but I won't glued the roof to the hull so I can display the vehicle open.

Just my opinion but leaving the hatch open (especially given the detail on the inside of the hatch - something not on the M1025 kit) would be beneficial so when you have the top on, you can still see inside, while still retaining the ability to take the entire top off to show everything

Also, if you are not gluing the top, I then assume you aren't adding the wires and cords that go from the electronic units on top of the roof to the interior systems?

Again, just my opinion.

Life is making choices !
Your first point is a good one but I can live without it ... The second one is killing me You put it right, I could have to reconsider my initial intent. Why have I posted this here :-)

I've already made a M1025 with the rear hatch open and I wanted to change a little with this one. Hum, I will start a think tank to make a decision

Anyway, thanks for your constructive comment.

Did a real great job with the interior. Having spent about 18 years in the US Army as an 11H302S (TOW Weapons) and over 3 years with the M966 version. I feel I have the background to comment.

I thing I want to mention is that your interior is the green is to fresh and clean. Seat covers would usually fade into a near OG within a year. Especially if exposed to strong sunlight. Other then that the usual niks, scratches, etc. But you said you still have to weather it.

Roger that ! But yes, I haven't finished the interior so far and still need some weathering. There are still some straps in the Eduard set (some are not matching Verlinden's warmachines technical drawing though !?), the doors interior to complete, the rear hatch inner face to detail !!
Your comments will prove helpful pretty soon. I'll show my results perhaps during the coming week-end.
