Nice looking KV Jeroen.. Great idea opening a storage box.. Did you have any problems with the decals? My KV is done too and I had an issue with the "ben" portion of the decals.. As they slide off, they tore, forcing me to remove the other side and hand painting them on.

Hi Dave, the decals on the turret are a real problem, had the same nasty things as you did.but used a lot of microsol to get them on .the rest was a easy build

Very nice idea to camo the kv, makes a whole lot different AFV than the plain green egsamples. Clean build also, I like it a lot!

Cheers

Looking excellent Jeroen! Nice camo. Love these trumpeter KV kits. I must get a KV2, as the big turrets do look nice.
As its still in progress, I guess you´re going to weather it a bit more? Only thing I can see that needs touching up is a little seam along both exhausts(pic 1).

Looks great! Please don't weather the tracks too much, since I think they look superb and it would be a shame to cover them in mud.

Couple of questionsi f I may...

1. I've seen a few KVs with seams on the exhausts - perhaps there actually was a weld seam on the original? Can anyone clarify that one way or the other?

2. Never seen the red stars w. hammer and sickle on a KV before - is that accurate? (I'm not saying it's wrong and I'm no expert by a long shot, just never seen it before)

Great work anyway!!!

Hi Graham, you may be right on the exhaust.took a good look at them and it looks like it is a weldseem, because there is also a differents in the thickness on both sides,de decals of the hammer and sickel came whit the kit so i just use them, dont know if there richt ??.thanks for the kind words

I checked with photos on Tanxheaven and there are no weld seams on the exhaust, well at least not there and not so significant.

Cheers
