Gday all
Just deleted my last post here accidently during the posting of pics, so yes, I'm annoyed and I'll keep this one brief :-)
Trying to create an 'early' version with the DML Op. Cobra kit... (no muzzle brake, pillowblocked bogey housings etc.)
Textured the hull for the cast look, added some Aber PE (annoying) and some scratchbuilt additions to these...
Is the texture under/overdone?
What have I missed?
Will get some more pics up soon
After these pics I have scratched the .50cal. clamp at the rear of the turret...

Here I have some putty holding the searchlight in place whilst glueing... Added the clamps for when the split-hatches are opened, a Tamiya aerial and am thinking of some railing for gear stowage on the turret side...

Have masked off the guntube base for painting. Have the PE sandshield attachment strips to add, and there is also some scratching needed to continue the guard on the inside of the frontmudguards further down the transmission housing? I also used solid Italeri idlers I had spare, and a couple of resin lifting rings...
Will prime what I have done to this point tmrw. This will show up some more flaws!!
Cheers
Brad

Hi Bradley,

Look nice....especially the texturing....I am not sure if a real vehicle has this much textureing but it looks very good !

Can you explain how you did it ?

The last time when I textured my model, after priming it, the texture all got cover up by the primer...so the texturing became not obvious at all....which left me scratching my head wondering what went wrong...maybe the texturing wasn't heavy enough...I thought...

Please post more of your picture after you prime it...I really wants to see the same picture again after your prime it...thanks

Its hard to say Brad about the texture as I think the lighting is making it look more pronouced that it really maybe? So far so good.

Wow! At first I though the second pic was somekind of a stone. Good texturing. It seems over-textured though. But that's just me. Let's wait till the whole tank come into place

Thanks for the feeedback! The 'over' texturing you are seeing is most likely the change in surface colour by the use of Mr Surfacer 500, which is a pure white colour... Will post a grey primed pic as soon as my CPU is back from the shop... Fried a chip...
Remember this is a cast hull and turret, and there are extensive irregular flaws from the casting process over the entire surface...
Cheers
Brad
