Here are a few photos of my two entries, ready for paint. The T28E will be adorned in a 1940 summer, 3 colour hard edge scheme, while the KV-8 will be given a medley of mottled greens. Feel free to comment (before I put paint to plastic!)

Very nice clean builds.
Just finished the KV8 turret myself. I'm looking forward to seeing both models painted.

Hey Carl,
The engine is already painted, just have to mask the opening before I prime the exterior.

That T28 is an ugly beast. I guess that's why it's so cool and interesting!! Great selections for the campaign.

Nice pair comrade :-)
How did you find the T-28?,mine went together fine
not the "filler monster" I was dreading
Those KV's are great kits my lads building one for this campaign, might have to get a couple for myself!!
I think he paid £10. 50 for his one, great value for money!!
I see you have no wheels on the spare bogie, have you run out?,do you want a few?
Look forward to seeing them with some paint on.

Thanks for the kind words folks,
The spare wheels will be placed on once the model is painted, as it will be a challenging 3 colour hard edge 'summer 1940' scheme. Ian, the kit is from ICM, the T-28 along with the T-35 and the IT-28 bridge layer are all great fitting models, and a must for the Russian armour enthusiast. Pick one up and surprise yourself.

I can't wait to see the T-28 in that camo. Are those stock tracks? I've built the IT-28 myself and was surprised at how decent it was - I buit it up in about 2 days excluding the tracks and the dreaded rollers, which took me about a week.

Hi Pavel,
Yes, the tracks are stock. Having built the IT-28 years ago, I do not recall if those where the same colour as these T-28 tracks.

Finally got my procrastinating butt off the couch and down to the paint booth last night. Started painting the KV-8. I primed the model with a coat of Polly Scale Steam Engine Black, and then preshaded using the following colours, Polly Scale British Interior Gray Green, Polly Scale Doped Linen and Polly Scale Panzer Red Brown. This morning, i gave the KV-8 a blending coat of Aeromaster Nakajima Army Green, thinned out by 80%-90% Tamiya thinner.
The next steps will be to hand paint the markings and then to weather the model using a combination of post-shading and hand painted scratches, followed by a water colour wash, and some fine drybrushing.
I hope to get both the KV-8 and the T-28E painted before the deadline, it'll be a tight one.
