This is my entry for the Russian Big and Beefy Campaign. I corrected the writings on the turret as per recommendations (and my inability to understand Russian :-) )

I used pastels to apply the whitewash. (My first attempt) The subtleties of the pastels were removed by the flatcoat giving the model more contrast between the dark green and the white. How do I remedy this?

Should I give it another pastel wash? (Thicker this time?) Or is it better to mist white on it? Thanks for your help.

Joseph:

Your KV1 looks good. Looks like it is taking a beating from the weather. When I first looked at it, it looks like it had just been through a snow storm. Doing another wash is up to you. What look are u going for? This could be a tank in the spring and the rain is washing off the whitewash. Or it could be a tank in the dead of winter. Either way, it looks good.

Keep us updated.

I just feel the green areas are too bare. I'll practice on the underside and see what happens. Anyway, this going to be an experiment in weathering. Thanks for the input.

Looks pretty good for the effect it sounds like you wanted achieved. I think you forgot to paint the tracks
