Here is one of two Gun Trucks that I’ve been working on. This one is a OIF Truck that was started with the Italeri 1/35th M923A1 Big Foot kit. Using reference photos that I got from Dave (animal) and a great build article from Vodnik web site. All of the scratch building and detailing was made using Evergreen Plastics. Basically I’m just filling in the missed detail and dressing it up some. This truck is in the Modern Armored Subjects campaign, and hoping it’ll be finished in time…maybe a day late. I’ll be using this kits supplied tires, as I have seen pics with them on. They won’t be glued on so that if and when I can get my hands on a set of resin ones, I’ll replace them.
Some of the work added, shock absorbers, power steering mechanism, brake chambers and the exhaust / spare wheel carrier, just some of the few.

Joe, this is a fantastic start on the truck. I will be watching this one very closely. By the way The Tank Workshop has some nice resin wheels for this kit. I have used them a few times and have been happy with them.

Great progress so far Joe.
Thats some skill with plastic and a cutting knife. How did you cut up the grills like that? Quite amazed at how you did the wheel axels as well.

Hey guys thanks a lot. My inspiration comes from our Gun Truck guru Dave (animal). I have a third going on as well, a Vietnam 2 ½ ton Gun Truck.
Thomas, my reference come from on-line photos, links that Dave (animal) has given me and Vodnik’s feature build article on the M923A1.link
Jeremy, the diamond plate/ grill that I use…it’s a product called WireForm. Can be found at most hobby, arts and crafts stores. It’s a 4x5 sheet that only cost me $4.50. Here is the website of what I use,

Looking great Joe. Can't wait to see it finished. Are you going to show us the pic of the real thing, or keep us in suspense as to how it will look?

Thought that might be the version you were building. Looking good. I may build that one myself.
