Almost finished, Weapons, insignia etc., to add to figures. Also I have to work on the faces a lot. It's amazing what shortcomings the digital camera shows up. All the buildings and groundwork are scratchbuilt.

Excellent Pat. The layout and balance of the whole scene is 100% perfect. I love it. Its got height, different levels, nice angle, space, etc. The scene itself is amazing ...the buildings and groundwork are very realistic, both in detail and in colour, as well as providing the scenes own background. The scene/idea is also refreshing. Love the choice of uniforms and colours. Nice mix of Germans and Russians, incorporating tanks and vehicles.
Anybody interested in learning how to build a good diorama can get a lot from this. Nice one!

I really like it. The multiple levels gives it a great feel of size

Couldn't agree more with the others!
Great job Pat
IMHO I'd tilt the head on the seated German either to his left to look at the Russian soldier who looks to be speaking in his direction, or to his right to see what the soldier next to him has turned to look at, and maybe the guard with the long barrelled rifle could have his head turned slightly to his left...
Other than my insignificant lil gripes it is a really great layout...
Is thast a Hetzer in the rubble?
My only knowledge of them before this was in the Ardennes campaign. (Probably why ?I have OD in my bloodstream?) Makes sense that it was grab what you can for the defence of Berlin...
Cheers

Hi there
I agree. Its a very fine piece of work. As mentioned, I also like the different levels in the dio, the variety of the Germans and Russians and the realistic presence of two tanks. That is a great dio. Congratulations with it.

Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks everyone.

This was a labour of love. I spent hours making rubble , crushing artists chalks and scribing cobblestones.
Bradley- I'll try tilting his head but the idea was that he was ignoring everything and won't even stand up. I check about the Hetzer and there were some Hetzers in the Kurmark Panzer grenadier division which was involved in the Battle of Berlin
