Hi everyone,
This is my first attempt at any diorama project. I am building this to put in a diorama with my already completed T-19 HMC. I have been working on it for about six months, because I travel a good bit with my current job and my modeling is "catch as catch can." I guess my big questions are does it look like I'm on the right track? All I have done so far is the basics. There has been no weathering yet or addition of rubble. Basically I have assembled it, added a little interior, some detailing and painted it. Any constructive comments are welcome. Hints and pointers in the right direction are also greatly appreciated.
Additional photos are available in "My Photos."

Nice job. I like the interior layout, well done.
A couple of pointers - I would like to see more variation in the stone work. You have some, don't be afraid to go all out and make almost every stone a slightly different shade. I would mix up a bit of a gray wash and wash a few stones, then, add a bit of black (or white) to vary the color, then wash a few different ones. Repeat... As you have done, you can also use tans and reds/rusts.
The stucco sections could use a touch of either a wash of pastel work to 'dirty' them a bit.
You've probably got this in the plan, don't forget a railing around the stair opening on the second floor.
This is a great building, it's unique and nicely constructed. The finish is a good solid start.

Hi Dave,
I'm no expert on these things but would agree with Scott's comments.
This looks like a very good start to me. I like the stairwell arrangement. I notice you haven't run the flooring to the full length of one wall. Have you thought what you will do with the spare bit yet? You have enough room to add a partition wall and doorway if you want, it really depends what stuff and how many people might be inside and the final placement of the building on the dio.
Excellent so far, keep us posted on developments.
Cheers
Al

Very good job so far! I agree with Scott on the stone work: stones are not all alike! Try and give each one a different treatment! I think you forgot a window: a small litle window next to the door (either that or we can't see it from the photos). The plaster on the wall should be painted on the same direction! You can see the directions in which it as been painted, and a 1/35 man couldn't do that! Still it is a very good build! Keep us posted!
Cheers and happy modelling!

Very nice indeed.
When following Slodder's suggetion of adding some variance in colours to the stone you need to also make it more random.
If you look at the stones in the first picture the dark grey stones are all evenly spaced from one another. Try and make it more random.
Other than that I really like this - you've done a marvellous job!

Thanks for the comments everyone. As I stated I have not yet started any weathering, but when I do, I will be sure to use the suggestions for varying the stone colors. As for the interior layout, I'm not planning on putting any figures inside the building, the plan is to fill it with heavy rubble, broken roof beams, roof tile, etc. I am also going to attempt to add some vines to the outside and inside as if it has been sitting ruined for some time. It's really just a backdrop for the model, and as such I really don't want it to become the main object of the diorama. As for the cows, I had not intended to add them, but had thought about a stray dog to share a snack with the dio's soldiers. Maybe the snack is the cow
