Hello all.
I've never before making any dio but I hope it will be successful.
I've started building second figure set in my life: DML's 2nd SAS Regiment (France 1944). Here are some pictures.
I primed it with Tamiya Surface Primer.
Sorry for the pics quality but I take it with scanner.
I also plan to use Italeri's Commando Car (Kit No. 320). When I found someone with digital camera I show you my progress on this one.
Any comments will be very appreciated.
P.S.
I usually builds models very slowly, so please don't expect too often updates.

Hi there
Is the dio going to be with an urban setting or out in the wild nature?
Good luck with it

Thanks for interest.
As for the arms Murdo, they are still on the sprue, because I've painted skintones with artist oils and they become dry.
I don't know yet Simon.

Hello again.
I've started painting figures.
Hands are temporarily stick with Maskol.
All comments and constructive critiques are welcome.
I found this 2 guides how to paint Denison Smock:
http://www.timelinesforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2231
https://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net//features/306
But maybe you have your own way of painting this uniform which you could share?
And now please help me: I don't know on what color I should paint anklets and webbing?

Welcome again after very long pause. Meanwhile I've build Polish Leopard for The Greatest Ever Modern Tanks Campaign. And now I take myself to hard work on SAS diorama. I hope I will be able to finish on time.
At last I possess my own digital camera, so I can show you progress in my build.
And I'm thinking about scene like this:
Do you maybe know on what color I should paint seats in my Jeep?
P.S.
I've noticed strange thing. When I've enlisting in Normandy Campaign end date was set to end of february. And now is set to end of january.

In France, the SAS jeeps did not have those armored plates in front of the driver or co-driver, and those gas tanks in back should be roughly square in cross section, rather than rectangular (i.e., they should be about half as wide). Mark Stares did an excellent on on Track Link...might be worth checking out his article.

There was an article in a military modelling a few issues back where two of these Italeri SAS jeeps were built and modified, which may be of use. Some good reference pics too. Im afraid I can't remember the issue no. though sorry.

Hi Tomek,
i've got a real soft spot for British Special Forces of WW 2; here are a couple of links you might find useful (I hope):
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jeep_man/sasjeep.htm There's a photo of an SAS jeep which is very similar to Italeri's.

http://members.aol.com/brimiljeep/WebPages/wwwDriveToWWII.html A huge resource on all things jeep.

Thank you very much for your interest and for links.
But now I dont't know what to do. From this article on Track Link appears that Italeri kit out of the box is not suitable for SAS Jeep from France. (Not only those armored plates in front are incorrect).

OK. As my Jeep is inappropriate for Normandy Campaign, then I've decided that I'll try to do some substitute diorama. I have MB figures kit "British troops, Caen, 1944" and I've started work on this. It will be only simple vignette with 4 standing soldiers.
I hope I be able to finish this on time.
