Which 88 kit are you using ? I'm currenting building the Dragon 88 Flak 36. First artillery piece I've ever built. And I'm having a ball with it. Of course when I first looked at the instructions I thought you'd have to be an engineer to build the bloodly thing, . I was only partly right. I just had to hire one to figure them out for me, :-) . Seriously it's a fun kit to build. I may not have any hair left when I'm through, but it's fun. Hope to have it finished for the campaign, just joined up.

Jerry:
Well iŽm building the Tamiya kit. It giveŽs you the chance to select either the flak 36 or 37. the kit is prety nice, and it includes some figures, but i have my doubts on the results iŽll get with the figures (they are not so detailed and kind of stiff). i wanted to build the Dragon model you have, but i couldnŽt find it at the local stores.

Hi Guys,
Just joined after checking with the boss if I could enter my "what if" 88mm Flakzwilling. I started it a couple weekends ago but its on the bench as a fill in project so progress will only be steady.
As an aside I'm looking for some working hinges to allow the gun shields to placed either open or closed up as the piece will eventually be used for wargaming. I've heard about the Aber hinges but arent familiar with them. Would they be suitable ? or does anyone have any other ideas?
cheers
Brent

The PzHb 2000 is a nice kit. However, there is one "gotcha", in that you will need to move the double-square sensors that sit on top of the barrel back in order to put the foil mantlet on (if you are going to do that).
This is what I'm talking about:

Go to the Campaign page for the rules. While not limited to self propelled arty, it should at least include the gun!!

For my entry into the Arty Up! campaign, I decided to go a little old school, but still remain within my scale of choice. My project is the Leva Productions Catapult (kit #72-A-11).
It consists of ten resin pieces in a tan color, although two of the wheels are in a khaki color. The pieces are superbly cast with minute wood grain on the surfaces. Hopefully, my painting skills are up to the task of natural wood, burlap and rope.
Here is a photograph of the unassembled parts:

Nice find! I would have even thought of this for an artillery subject. Be interesting to see it finished. I think you get originality points on this one.

Well I started my Trumpter 1/72 AS90 SPG at the weekend and signed up for the Campaign (even this late into the campaign) Still haven't decided whether to do it in Op Telic or SFOR colour scheme yet and i'll get a progress pic up soon.
Is there any idea on what the campaign ribbon will look like yet?

Here are the parts after clean up. The resin is sort of rubbery, but clean up was rather easy compared to typical brittle resin kits I've worked with.
I've dry fitted some parts and assembled the main crossmember. The A-frame pieces are not asymetrical and I could not tell if the long leg or short leg went forward. I ended up putting the short leg forward, but it is hard to tell the difference.
The kit is small, only 3" by 2" and fairly delicate.

Heres the latest Photo of my AS-90. The hull and turrett is built, the wheels are together but just need a clean up. Hoping to have the rest of the peripherals, the barrel installed and it primed by the end of this weekend.
I just still can't make up my mind on the colour though

Here's my model for this campaign. It's a Zvezda 2S1 122mm Gvozdika. I posted a total of three photos of this model on the campaign gallery so I hope this fulfills the requirements of the campaign. Thank you, Gary

Hi guys
Here is my entry for the arty up campaign. It is a KV-2 armed with the 152mm howitzer. I had my doubts whether it would qualify for this campaign as it was mostly used in the direct fire role. However, it was approved by the campaign organiser. So here it is.
It is the Trumpeter KV-2 build OOB. It is a really cool model with the choice between rubber tracks and link and length. I used the link and length even though the rubber tracks look okay as well. The model came together without any problems so it is highly recommended.
Painting scheme was kept simple with an overall green camouflage with black pre-shading. Weathering was several washes, light overspray with mid-stone and some Tamiya earth pigments. The KV-2 will be weathered a little more in the future as it is to be included in a small diorama.
This is a real beast with a massive hull and a turret the size of a small house. The turret sides just scream out for red stars and slogans. "For Stalin"

Minor adjustments are still necessary, but the beast is ready. I have to attach some tools, add some pastels, and it's done. (It's supposed to be a museum vehicle so weathering is minimal. All hail to the good "stories" that save you a lot of trouble and keep the mud off from your "beauty" )
I'll have more photos as soon as I sort out the problems with my quota (and finish the kit). More photos can be seen here

Andras - very nice job on the Sturmtiger, which kit did you use?

Update on my AS-90:
The wheels are on and the the kit is painted and decaled just need to attach the tracks, seal the kit with Klear and then the weathering starts.
I might just get this finished in time
