Hi guys,
Here is a pic of a dio i am making for the Normandy campaign, more can be seen
here.
I had a few questions as to what i used for the grass and shrubs.First the dio:
The grass came from a plant centre under the dried flower section (cost about 2euros) and looked as it does below.I simply found fine pieces from the strand, cut it to the desired length, added white glue to the areas i wanted grass and applied it with tweezers.I then let this dry and dry brushed with various greens and browns.
The shrubs were taken from the next door neigbours front door ..
A shrub that has been taken out:
For the flowers,i used some smaller pieces off of the shrubs and simply painted the bulbs in yellow and red colours.
Anyways,i wanted to do something small and that didn't cost too much.I hope this has answered a few questions and maybe given a tip to someone who is thinking about doing something similar.
Cheers guys,Shay

Thanks, Shay. Flowers are something I'm never convincing at.

Hi Steve,
I asked my next door neighbour about the "flower" and apparently the ring that it came off (see pic) is actually used to hang up outside for birds to eat.I guess if you went to a craft shop, pet shop or even florists they might have it or something alike.
If all else fails and you can't find anything,pm me and i'll see what i can do
Cheers,Shay

That looks great, it has a very nice late summer feel to it. Just about when things are getting brown and the green starts to dissapear, but then again u have the flowers that give a nice touch of color. The raised mound in the corner creates a nice composition and the tree is great as well...may I ask what your secret is? What figures/vehicles are you going to include?
Cheers, Ian
