Hello,

Need help with a future project. I have seen a photo of a M-32 recovery veh with some Cdn M4A3E8 in Korea. Did Canada have M-32's and are there any pictures of them? (I can't remember were I saw the photo I mentioned above) I want to make the Italeri M-32 recovering a LSH M4 but need refs for the M-32 if it was Cdn?

Thanks

The one photo I've seen (from an older issue of RT), showed an M32 with HVSS (making it an M32 something-something: B1?) towing one of the Strats M4A3 76 HVSS's. Not entirely clear if it was a Canadian vehicle or a US one. I've been kind of interested in building one myself someday, have got a spare Dragon M4A1, AFV Club HVSS and tracks, and the Italeri M32 kit. Any other info out there?

Cheers,
Jim

The ARV you're interested in was named ALCOHOLICS. She was an M32A1B1, in that she was based on the small hatch M4A1hull with the later HVSS suspension. I'm building her right now, based on the DML M4A1, Italeri M32 and the AFV Club suspension and tracks. There's a lot of muddy water to deal with as the photo coverage of ALCOHOLICS is very limited. I can pass along the three images I have on hand if you're interested. Luckily, there are several internet sites that host images of M32A1B1's and they will serve to fill in the gaps.

Cheers,

Chris

TanxHeaven has a very nice walkround of an M32A1B1, plus a few other M32 variants.

Chris, Thanks for the images. I do like the Brigadier's(?) face on the one photo, clearly not impressed. Also the M4A3(76) Ataboy will do nicely for another build.

Chris, did you complete this build? I'd like to see pics if they are on line anywhere.

There was an excellent article on "Alcoholics" in Miltary Modelling Vol 36 No 15 Dec 2006 by Chris Johnston with three pics of the real vehicle in Korea
Cheers
