Greetings all,
Here's my first bit of rolling stock. It's an 0 scale 7mm Southern railways 12 Ton 8 Plank Open Wagon. 3000 were built between 1926 and 1928. These wagons continued in service into the 1960's. Original livery would have been brown with black running gear.
For my purposed it's a narrow gauge open wagon for pier 51. In life and not 'flash' it's a lot darker than it looks.
I've added some numbers for marking purposes (not show), but wonder if this is 12 ton on 0 scale would it be about 8/10 ton in /35?????
Cheers
Al

Fantastic weathering on that - looks like the real thing - allowing for the flash that is.

It sure look like wood and steel to me! Might be a bit too much light pigment but it could be the photo.
Btw, what is it ment it should carry?

Hi Andy, Andreas,
Thanks for the feedback guys. This is my second attempt at doing a large area in wood. You might be right about the dust, but the setting will be summer and as it's just dusted on Mig Pigment quite a bit will drop off naturally.
Here's a couple of pictures of the 'Wee Boat', I didn't put it into the RRB, but it might add a bit of interest to the post.
These are both pieces for Pier 51.
Cheers

Hi Andreas,
The 'Wee Boat' is the Verlinden 1/35 Wooden Dinghy. It's a waterline kit which isn't exactly what I wanted but it was the only game in town as they say.
I re-worked the orrs to look a bit more British but apart from that and adding a little rope and a decal for a number the kits OOB.
Glad you like it.
Cheers
