Canadian Wildlife Part 2 ,
Heres my little Lynx, scratched from an old Tamiya M113 and lots of sheet styrene., Eduard Etch and AFV tracks also a far bit of resin casting. Time for some paint.
George Bradfords drawings and Graeme Davidsons book " Building the M113 Series" from Osprey, provided a bulk of the information
Jim Caddo, Jason Bobrowich, can't thank'em enough, both those gentlemen are a wealth of knowledge and very generous with their time, thank -you
Dan Hay and Anthony Sewards posted some excellent reference photos, so finding details was pretty effortless.
I drove the Lynx when I was a young lad so she has a soft spot in my heart, as well as about a gallon of diesel in my system.
It was a fun build, now for paint!

Peter,
Very impressive work. Your Lynx looks fantastic. Great little beast.

Can we get some closeups? I'm too cheap to get the HobbyFan kit and I'd like to try this build someday.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
It's actually a fairly simple scratch, there is so much excellent reference out there
hard to make a bad one, and what else are you going to do with those old tamiya M113s?
Let me know when you want to start your Lynx and I head some stuff your way.
Regards
Pete

You're kidding ? Your model is covered by plastic card and full of modifications to the original M113. I can't simply believe it's a simple scratch !
I'm really impressed by your job. I hope seeing it soon finished and painted.

Okay, so maybe its not that easy.
Basically, all I did was make copies of the plans I was using ( to scale),mount them to cardboard, cut out the panels you need from the cardboard, and the tape them together. Very quickly you can see your model take shape. Cut out the styrene panels from the cardboard templates and there you go, more or less.
Honestly the biggest hassles where the weldbeads and those silly tie downs!
I think once I had the patterns figured out, I was able to assemble it in a few hours.
Thanks for all the kind words
Pete
