Well here she is, a few small bits to add but otherwise ready for primer.
I used the Italeri LAV hull, AFV Scorpion Turret and Maple Leaf Model wheels, gas can and antenna mounts.
I used George Bradfords drawings and an article in "Random Thoughts" ( the Canadian IPMS mag) by James Duncan, for my basic constuction.
I knew very little about the Cougar when I started this project ( except being chased around the Calgary fireroads during an excerise when I was with the BCR's) but without the help of guys like Jim Caddo and Jason Bobrowich, I doubt I would have gotten this far, Thanks for your guidance & patience.
Other folks to thank are Dan Hay and Anthony Sewards for some amazing reference photos, Paul Truhe for finding some LAV etch in his stash and JP Morgan from Maple Leaf for sending me out those resin wheels before he went on hiatus. Thanks again guys.
Regards

Peter,
Your Cougar looks great, very nice build. How are you finishing it?
I know you have mounted the wheels just for the photos but don't forget when you attach them that they have directional tread and should be mounted with the chevron treads pointed forward...the tires could be switched around but only for a short period due to the excessive wear created.

You're scaring me. I've got a spare Scorpion turret and LAV hull but that looks like a lot of surgery.
Looking good. Not sure if I can spot the LAV PE that I sent you. : o

Thanks for the kind words, good intel about the wheels, I noticed that as I was mocking it up the other day and wondered about the direction, I probably used some shots from you to verify.
I think I'm going to finish in a two tone, black and green, although the vehicle that I based it on used a three color cam, but it may have been pimped up for display. Still a little up in the air,.
Funny about the etch Paul I ended up usingonly the Jerry Can racks and the two rear door handles. LOL ,then yesterday I noticed one of the handles had vanished!!
Son of a.. oh well I'll make some more
Thanks again
Pete

Peter,
The Cougar cam pattern was a two tone green...olive green and a lightend olive drab and black....the olive drab faded very quickly and that may be why it looks kile only a two tone pattern.
Here's a link to the pattern:

Hi,
it's a really nice piece of work. I always have pleasure to see some Canadian steel as their armored vehicles are so different from their "donor" vehicle especially the LAV variants.
Will you do a Grizzly next time to have a complete series ?
Olivier

Olivier, Thanks for the encouragement. I think that Maple Leaf Models might be doing a AVGP Grizzly conversion later on in the year, so I will probably end up with one on my shelf, as well as a few more Cougars.
Thanks again
