Found this at a yard or jumble sale for 50cents
It says Tamiya 1970 on the bottom and appears to be the early tiger
with intake filters.
The zimm looks like it was done with a hot screw driver and I don't know
if it should even be there.
Is this one that can be saved or is it even worth the trouble?
Tony
Thanks

This looks fragged, man! I wouldn't bother, 'cos of the badly applied zim'! No matter what you do to this mother to make it look better, the eye is always gonna' take a fix on that zim'!

I would use it as a test bed for camouflage paint schemes. I've got a Trumpeter M60 that has about 20 coats of paint on it from this use.

Blow the crap out of it (in a modelling sense of course) and stick it in the Purple Hearts campaign.

zimmerit is a paste that the Germans applied to their tanks later on in the war to stop magnetic mines being stuck to the hull sides or turret and other vulnerable spots.

My rule of thumb is to never throw anything kit related out. As already mentioned you can use it to practice painting on or as a tank to practice applying your own zimmerit on or place it in a diorama. I have seen a picture of a Tiger hidden in a building and covered almost entirely with debris.
If nothing else you can always use it for spare parts or whatever.
I believe that every kit is basically good and deserves a chance to be happy! :-)

Yes you are right. I hadn't thought of that. Just seems a waste to throw something away though.

Thanks folks and no I wasn't going to just throw it
away.
I've got something else here to ask you.
I've got a still in the box 1/35 Tamiya Panther 5A, made in 1969.
It also has those remote control holes in the floor pan.
Is this another one of those don't bother with kits?
