Just canvassing interest on this one. I've submitted it as a campaign for next year and thought (with hindsight) I ought to see if anyones interested. I'm looking at Allied Airborne ops from Normandy to the cease of hostilities in 1945. It'll cover the D-day drops, Market Garden, Battle Of the Bulge,Varsity etc. It'll be NWEurope. A lot of scope in there. Anyone fancy it?

If I am home and have made some progress with my left wing I am interested. Got those Master Box paratroops, Operation Varsity figgies and both the British 1st Airborne at Arnhem and US paratroops in Normandy sitting in the pile waiting for a good reason to get going on them... Airborne All The Way!

If you widen it up to the very beginnings of WW2 you can include German FJs as well.

I'm definitely up for it. I've got a mess of Red Devils kits just begging to be put to use.

Hmm.....as a rule (and personal preferance of course) I have been limiting myself to Vietnam era and newer, or anything I con convert to look newer.

You may force me to break my rules and pick up a kit to model as the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. Damn you :-) Not definate yet, but I'll probably cave in and join.

Hehe...go on Kevin you know you want to. Be nice to see some Cannucks modelled in WW2!

Alan, I thought for a while about the build re worldwide airborne forces but decided that as Allied modellers get a rough deal I'd do another specifically Allied campaign. (Plus I have an intense dislike of FJ as my late grandad spent 4 yrs in a POW cage after Crete. Having said that he was captured by Alpenjager but I digress). In all seriousness though I prefer Allied modelling so it's an opportunity for others to indulge as well. The scope of the campaign is massive. Not only on the basis that Airborne troops were used in their proper role ie falling out of the sky..but as infantry as well. Prime example is the Ardennes. British Paras in the North, 101 and 82nd in the South as normal infantry. Market Garden...101 and 82nd supported by XXX corps.

This would be a very versatile campaign if it's accepted. Something for both figure and AFV modellers. Okay Allied orientated but looking at the Normandy campaign it would appear to be something different which people want to participate in.

Fine with me as I'm an Allied builder anyway. Axis builders and go blow for this campaign for all I care!! They get all the kits, the least we can do is a non-axis campaign!!!

US paras for me!!

Danial, thinking about it you could go for Carentan or Market Garden as FJ were involved in both fighting Allied airborne

hmm..ok.
just a suggestion erich, why not make this an airborne campaign with no particular year. make it something like a tribute to those men and women from the airborne units regardless of country but its just a suggesstion.
whatever it is, count me in.

cheers.
