Hi guys,
After my deployment to Kabul last year, I really wanted to an diorama from my experiences down there.
I haven't started working on the diorama itself - But this is my progress (About 95% done) on MIG productions nice little BJ44, which will be a part of the diorama one time soon.
I made the BJ44 into a civilian vehicle belonging to the demining section of the organisation O.M.A.R (Organisation for Mine Clearance & Afghan Rehabilitation) - I still need to add some demining equipment and some minor details.
The figures are modified from Verlinden's "Arab street curiosity".
Regards,
Bjoern

It looks great Bjoern. I really like the colour scheme and weathering. How did you do the lettering and was the kit to build?

Wonderful!
What a great subject. I imagine years from now people will be doing a lot models of this era as we do WWII stuff. The difference being the WWI & WWII guys did not have the models to share their personal experiences like you have done. By the way, thank you for doing your time over there. It is very much appreciated on this side of the pond.

Thanks for the comments guys!
Goodhunting,
The diorama will depict a scene were some Afghans have uncovered some UXO's close to their house... The BJ44 is the local demining team on their way to remove it - A Danish liason team will also be present.
(Of course the layout can change during the progress...)
Pat,
I handpinted the lettering on the doors and hood - The license plates (They are actually Kabul plates) were made with Illustrator and printed out on normal paper.
The kit came together quite easy... And I really enjoyed the build!
Derek,
Thanks!

Bjoern
