Hello,
O.k., This is my first armor model in about 15 years (and my second model in that time). Comments, complaints and other constructive mentions are welcomed!
A quick description of a few things that I ran in to as a complete novice.
1) This was fun!!
2) Check my bottles of paint. I accidently used "clear base" instead of "flat clear". This resulted in more additional paint and wash that I would have liked.
3) Tracks are hard to put on.

I like it !!!
I certainly am no expert, but I like the paint job and the moderate washing and weathering, not overdone, but enough not to make it look toy like or too pristine.
Keep upthe good work and good luck on future projects

Thanks for the suggestions and comments!
The wash I used was a bit of an experiment. I used a combo of Tamiya flat clear, rubbing alcohol, Tamiya dark green and Tamiya smoke. The smoke gave it too much of a gloss, I think. Also you can still see my mistake of using flat base which dries white, and as a result the washes did not cover it all.

For just getting back into the hobby its a very nice job. If I don't build for a while I get a little rusty and have to consult my stock of how to books and magazines. Keep building.

Looks pretty good overall to me! Looks like you managed to do well with the tracks in spite of their difficulty. I've got this same kit waiting for me.
I wonder if using some pigments or pastels might blend in the darker, flatter areas with the rest of the paint?

Frank,
I think it would. I did actually use some black charcoal on the exhaust ports and the barrel, and some other areas. The paint looks uneven mainly due to my mistake of using clear base (which dries white) over my dark green paint. I did not want to throw on another coat of green, so I tried to erase my mistakes by using many washes of flat clear, smoke and dark green. The Tamiya smoke gave it an glossy oily sheen (go figure!) which I tried to tone down with the pastels.
I also made real rust from soaking steel wool in salt water for a few days to apply on the tracks, It doesn't show in the photos but it added a cool effect, plus it should age and look more rusty in the grooves.
Thanks again for the comments!
