Wierd. Not sure it is even a real M113. The hull is all reversed. The driver's hatch is on the right side, and the engine hatch is more to the left. Very strange.
It must be some type of movie prop.
Could it be based on a British FV-432?
It has a right side driver's hatch and similar drive train to an M113.

I agree Gino. In fact, only the running gear and tracks look like those of a M113 ...... Even the location of the towing eyes is different....
Is it a fake Bradley based on a fake M113 chassis ?

Looks like a mock up to me. See the signs taped to the front and side with duct tape? I bet they say something about not climbing on it, since it is probably made of particle board.

Hello Everyone,
I just saw that vehicle last night, or one exactly like it. It was in the Movie "XXX-State of the Nation", forgive me if I got the exact title wrong. If you think that is wierd, wait till you see the M-1? wannabe with the additional turrets on top of the main one. I was all to wierd and they fought it out, the "Bradley" and the "M-1?" inside the USS Independence.. Really bad movie... But hope that helps.
Best Wishes,
Walter

The DOD did not want anything to do with the show and did not loan them anything. I did not see it but I guess they had a pretty poor Abrams mock up and were using Hueys as dust off helios because the DOD wouldn't loan them real ones. The show has been cancelled, btw...

Another shining example of why I am glad I never watched the show. I have hear nothing but hokiness about it. The previews looked pretty bad too. Glad it is going away. From what I could tell, it didn't portray how it really is "Over There" anyways.

Thanks to all for your replies and to Rob for the link. Now why they did bother to move the M113 driver location from left to right (if it's indeed M113-based) is another story

I watched a couple of episodes Gino and it was the biggest load of poop, the way it portrayed the US Military, was done in a way to demean the services.
It was a typical 'Media' having a knock that we have had over here......no pun intended.

well the hull for the "bradley" is that of an M113. But why the drivers hatch is on the wrong side I am not sure. Were there ever any M113's built with the hull reversed? That is the question

About the fake Brad, the traks are from M113. The reversed hatch is still a mistery to me.

It's got right-side drive 'cause it's a British FV432 Trojan. Like the M113 it's an old horse and has been replaced by the Warrior IFV.

This vehicle is not based on the chassis of an FV432, looking at the pic that was posted by Rob there is an FV432 sitting next to the "bradley" It is much larger, has supported track, the roadwheels are diffrent design, the track is narrower, amongst other things.

I was reading on another website that was able to get info from the company that built this vehicle. It is based on the M548. Since the engine is mounted more towards the rear and center of that vehicle they are able to put he drivers hatch on the right side, now why they did that is beyond me because even the M548 is left hand drive. Also when you compare the two front ends ie the final drive housing and the placement of the recovery lugs, they are a perfect match.

Its kind of funny to see that again... The first time I seen it was in an episode of "Over There" that [auto-censored] ass TV show about OIF. The platoon leader was sleeping in it, and came out of the drivers hatch yelling at the soldiers to be quite. I rember getting pissed off b/c they were saying how realistic the show was, then had this BS mock-up of a "bradly" on there, and someone sleeping in it at mid-day. anyone who has been over there, knows just how hot those things get and how much the crews love to stay in them during the day... NOT AT ALL

They need to make that thing ready for 'blow-up', with the producers of 'over there' in it :-)
