Hi all,
I've been meaning to post this one for a while, her she is.
The Lynx is made up from a Tamiya lower hull, roadwheels, skirts, AFV tracks, Maple Leaf sprockets, headlights and antenna bases,Verlinden weapons. PE was from Eduard and finished with some Archer transfers and some custom callsigns and liscense plates. Oh yeah, and a bunch of styrene. Thanks to Jason, Jim and Anthony for their help.
Comments and critiques always welcome.
Regards
Joker

Hi Jesper,
For 1, I drove the Lynx in my youth, so there was that. I used a set of plans from George Bradford and lots of photos form Prime Portal, and some I had collected over the years.
Thanks for the kind words

Peter,
This is a very nice build. The weathered appearance and faded markings are exceptional. With those individuals coaching you, it is no wonder that it looks great. It takes me back to RV89 when we got to go up to Wainwright and work with the 1st and 4th CMBGs. I was able to do a mission, riding in a Lynx, with one of the Recce Troop Commanders from the LdSH (RC). Those guys knew their stuff and were outstanding recce soldiers. I felt a sense of accomplishment when later in the exercise, I was able to sneak up on their Warrant and surprise him.

Hi John,
Good on ya for getting the Warrant, doesn't happen often. Yes, the Strats really know there stuff alright, the taught quite a few things. One of Canadas most experienced regiments with a great history, although not quite as good as my own the British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaughts Own).
The guys who helped me really did come through, with encouragement and knowledge, you just can't rely on your memory to help with all those details.
Thanks again
Pete

Any help much appreciated

Congrats on a job well done

Nice work I always enjoy seeing a Canadian armor subject and the Lynx is one of my favorites. I have fond memories of my time as a Recce crew commander as well.

Good job and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the comments, if only I'd been a crew commander, alas I was only a driver. I love the little Lynx although I don't know how good a recce vehicle she was, every time you'd make a move a great big belch of black exhaust would float up into the sky telling everyone where you were...maybe thats why they told us life expectancy as a Recce soldier was short....
Cheers

Looks great all done up. How would you compare the work you put into it versus shelling out the dough for the resin kit?

Also, is it the shadow or does the nose sit higher than the rear?

Paul,
How are you? Thanks for the comments.Yes the Lynx does sit slightly down in the rear, kinda gives it a weighty look..(I didn't actually plan that, but it doesn't bug me either) How would I compare it to the Hobbyfan, it's alot more work to scratch but the parts are pretty easy to come by and because it's fairly square (ish) it was pretty easy. The toughest part was making the Crew commanders turret and glueing all those tie downs! The HF is about 125 -150 CDN depending where you go, so I chose to spend my dough on other things ( just got 2 Leo 1A5s to make a C2 and C2 Mexas uparmour) If your interested I can send a more detailed build
Cheers

Peter,

Doing fine. With the inspiration of your build, I'll have to tackle this someday. I've got the Bradford drawing and a spare M901 turret.
