Hi guys,
Built a large deal of Emhar's version of the "male" tank yesterday evening(New Years present for myself).Still have some minor things to add, slight filling etc. before painting
I'm been more interested in the dio side of the hobby, but a W.W.1 dio with one of these brutes in it is too good to pass up.
There were some minor fitting problems with the hull and sponsons, but all in all there weren't too many headaches.
I've seen on another thread here that Accurate have some great aftermarket stuff i.e track links etc.Is there a set that would work with this version?
Next up is the rest of the Emhar range of W.W.1 tanks!
Criticism/comments welcome
Shay

Hi Shay

These are the AA tracks

As for things to do with the model - depends what you're going to do with it. One thing that needs doing is to remove the two little hatches on the rear slope of the roof, they are probably a later alteration to a museum tank.

If you're building a ditched tank as in the diorama in the Gas mask thread then it's usual for the machine guns to be removed when the tank was abandoned. This helps as the Emhar ones aren't that wonderful. For a bit of variety you could also open a few of the pistol ports (the oval shaped things on the sponsons sides). The covers pivot on the bolt mounted at the end of the cover. Cut a new port cover from plastic card and drill a hole for the pistol port where the closed cover is moulded before sanding it off. Adds a little interest.

Are you fitting the unditching rails? They're a bit of a problem with the Emhar model as they looked at the type fitted to the Mark V.

What exactly is the problem/solutions to the general fitting of the kit?

What colours to use for the tank?

Thanks for any help!
