Looks nice, but according to the pics on your webpage you used the wrog hood with the wrong grills. As far as I know all hard top HMMWV's have grills without any spacing in between like in the Esci kits. The easiest way to correct this is to use one from the various Eduard pe sets.

Nice job Sarge!! So tell me can one of these things take out a tank with a first shot kill or is the modern armor a little tougher then that?

Thanks for the complaiment. Wasn't planning on adding it to a true dio. I've been leaning more in the line of a static display dio. No weathering, misc, field gear, etc. Just a simple stained wood stand with a little grass, etc. Only addition to it will be the bumper numbers of the vehicle I commanded for approx. 4 yrs in the TOW plt. 3 BN 17 Inf. 7ID (Light). IF you missed the all the photos I have of the M966, you can go to http://train.missouri.org/~emgeer/m996.htm to see it.
My next major project in the planning is to depict the TOW M151A2 I served on back in the late 70s while assigned to CSC 1 Bn 5 Inf. 25 ID with a TOW missile in flight. I have already built a 1/35 TOW missile for it.
I used Testor's Model Master enamel: Used are:
Interior: Interior Green (FS34151) MM#1715
Exterior: Flat Black (FS37038) MM# 1749
Forest Green (FS34127) MM#1714
Military Brown (FS30117) MM#1701
THe exterior colors should have been the 3 NATO Colors. However, since I live in a rual area I don't have ready access to a good hobby shop except via internet.

Up to 96 when I retired, I would say yes the TOW II firing either the BGM-71E (TOW 2A) stand off war head probe or the BGM-71F (TOW 2B) fly over, will defeat 99% (estimate) of any armored threat it faces. This includes reactive armor. The warhead is a shape charge that can burn threw approx 24 inches plus of armored steel. There is more info that I know of its abilities, however, if I told you, I would have to kill you, nuke your computer, etc. especially since its was still classified when I retired.
I personally know for a fact that during Desert Storm, some M966's or Bradley TOW II were fired at some of the Iraqi T72; hull down that had their turrest blown of from the impact at a range approximately 3.1 km

Thanks Sarge! Good killing but remember when you come to kill me and Nuke my computer I have a bud that will nuke yours in return and kill you don't you just love us ex Army dudes!!
LOL
The only thing that trips me is the lack of armor for protection but I guess better then a straight leg standing their with a shoulder fired one!

Thank you for the good link. On to kit I like it. In fact I have one on the to build myself. The misslie is right on.
Got a couple questions did that radio rack come with the kit or is it aftermarket or built from scarch? What do think about the crew that come with the kit? Are they of good quality. What about there gear?

I built it out of a missile I took from the old Tamiya M151A2 TOW jeep. Obtained PR phots, etc from Raython (makers of the TOW and the next generations). Used a drumel as a lathe and used exacto knives to make it.
Actually, it's a mixture. I removee the block of plastic that Academy has for the mount and engine cover. Used thin plastic strips to rebuild the emgine cover and utilized the **Eduard Photo-etch, M1036 HMMV with Tow Launcher (Kit # 35 258) ** for the actual mount. NOTE: Eduard's PE id for the Italeria version. But it worked great with the Academy version I built.
I thought academy did alright with the crew. IT comes with 3 crewmembers, Driver, Squad/Section Leader (passenger) and the gunner.
It was current and up to date. Had a few that were distorted, such as: holes, etc. But what they lacked, I made up from my parts bin.
If you want to spend more money and add more detail Check out eduard's website. URL is http://www.eduard.cz They are producing other PE sets that couldbe used to detail the M966. Such as the M1025, Avenger Ki# 39 497. This includes a complete PE for the armored doors, floor mats, etc.

Some of the interior came with the Kit, some was Eduard PE Kit, (radio mount, missile rack, pedistal, etc.), some scratch built (cases), missiles and radio from an old Tamiya M151A2 Tow carrier
