Here I will present building of Italeri's 1/35 VW type 87 (kit no. 6426).

Kit contains also 6 figures of Africa Corps soldiers on two sprues. For car we have two sprues + one sprue for clear parts (clear parts are not on photo).

Generally quality of the kit is good. Some seams and pinholes are present but little sanding will do the thing.

I've got the CMK boxing of this kit without the figures. The CMK resin interior and engine make this kit a winner.

I've been looking for ages for that VW. The figure photos looks good from a distance. How does it fare?

I recently build this kit, and whilst it is a nice kit, detail is sparse, and the body did not fit flush over the chassis. There is a gap on one side. I bought mine purely as filling for a garage, so these concerns are not big for me, but as a stand alone model it needs a bit of work...

Cheers
Henk

Here is the close up, but you have to forgive me because I'm a poor photografer.

Figures look good. Details are rather sharp and convincing. Four of six faces are acceptable, but two are odd. And I think one figure wears greatcoat as I'm correct.

Concerning the build, you have to be carefull while attaching wheels to axels (espacialy front axel - belive me, I wasn't enough carefull and bent the axel ). You should drill out the hole for axels a little more for better fit.
The next step will be bumpers and preparing interior.

No kidding. The figures DO have the looks that can kill (ofcourse, a replacement head may be necessary :-) :-) ) Thanks for sharing!

Ralph, I didn't say they are great, especially when you compare them to resin figures or Dragon's Gen 2. Replacing heads and good painting can make them fine looking figs. And not all men are handsome :-)

Test fitting showed a 1 mm gap between lower hull and hood. On these pics you can see the gap filled with Humbrol putty.

Here are front seats with seams and sink holes.

And here are the seats ready to be glued.

Looks good Marcin so far, the preshading certainly works on giving depth to the paint, just one thing, I notice you didnt shade around the lights themselves or the door handles, was there a reason fot that?

Thanks for comments.
Mark, I thought that I've preshaded around tail and front lights enough but as you can see it wasn't enough. I didn't think about preshading door handles or interior and simply forgot to preshade wheels I have to remember to think and check everything twice before I get to next step...
Well, it was second preshading I've ever done (first one was a total failure). I hope next one will be better...

No worries Marcin, it still looks good, its how we learn and improve by our mistakes.

Some more photos:
The model has been painted, coated with Floor Polish. I had no problems with decals. Parts that supposed to represent glass are far way too thick. I wanted to depict driver's and passenger's windows partially open so I used some clear packing box. Original parts were used as templates.

Before dull coat and dusting I will glue tail lights.
Thanks for viewing

Almost there now then Marcin, the coat of future seems to have reduced the contrast of the preshading a little bit but not so you cant see it at all, the partly lowered windows are also a neat little touch which just sets it off nicely.
