Would it be wrong for me to paint my Formations Ram OP in a camo pattern?
I would like to use a bubble pattern that I have seen on normal Ram tanks.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Yeah, I think it might. If anything it would be broad swaths of black over SCC15. The photos I can recall all show single colour SCC15 Ram OPs.

Bubble pattern? On normal Rams? I know of no Rams painted in a "bubble pattern" (which I am assuming is Micket Mouse". The only camo patterns I have seen on Rams is a dark over medium toned scheme, probably SCC1a over SCC2 but it might be Black over SCC2 or even Black over green. If you have seen a MM patterned Ram, I'd love to see a photo of it.
If you are talking about the B&W shot of the Rams near a grove of trees then they are in the dark over medium scheme. If you are talking abuot the colour shot of the guys loading a Ram, then it's the same (although I like to think it's black over green, but I'm a bit colourblind in the brown/green range).

AFAIK the OP tanks were just a single color SCC15 OD, so yeah, rather boring. Any camo from their use as training tanks was likely painted over when they were rebuilt as OP tanks. To add color I would do the usual messy stowage and perhaps use different colors on the tools. If you're doing an interior (does Formations include one?) I'd consider finding some maps to have lying about on the plotting tables. And if you haven't already got them, Quartermaster's Depot in Canada make a nice decal set for Rams that would have some useful markings although an OP tank isn't one of their selections.

Yeah, that's the one I was referring to. As much as I'd liek to hope it was black over green, I think it's black over brown or even dark brown over brown. This shot was taken in 1943 and is a regular armoured unit. Artillery units were pretty much repainted by the invasion, so solid SCC15 OD is pretty much your only bet.

Nope.

If you haven't already got them, you're going to have a harder time now as Dana is out of business. The time pressures of a new job have squeezed him out of the decal business.
Terrible shame.

Quartermasters Depot out of business? Didn't know that; it certainly is a shame, Paul. Good thing I picked up a few of the Sherman and Ram sets the last time I was in Calgary a couple of years ago. And I guess my polo shirt with the "Here, Kitty Kitty" Firefly on the back is a collectible now...
