Nearly done! I typically don't do a lot of heavy weathering but Biffa's excellent build got me pulling out the oils and pigments. For some reason Russian armor just asks to be beat up a bit anyway. Pictures kinda stink, was all reved up to take better ones but the batteries went dead(remembered the camera, forgot the charger). I'll get the tracks on and the rest of the 'bedsprings' and get some more shots soon. I left the square fenders on, its probably not correct but I kinda liked them better.

Nice. I would suggest varying some of the rust colors on the bedsprings, though. Usually rusty things are not one color. There tends to be mixtures of oranges, browns, and reds. Maybe some chips in the layers of rust too.

Ditto on the Rust and one thing to add in good faith .
Drill the exhaust a tad bit more so as to make it thinner.
Good job overall.

Thanks guys. In real lighting, there is about 10 different shades of rust and its actually brown with no discernable red to it(and a lot of black shows in the corners), about the shade of milk chocolate at its brightest. I was getting out my extra clip-on lights when the camera battery died. With the one halogen spot and my not-so-great camera, it always makes the colors look insanely bright and saturated. They got a pass with random hits of every wash I was doing. I plan to hit them with some graphite and steel dry brushing when I get the tracks on, and a little dust, as I want to do it with them all mounted together. Even the white stripe is crazy bright in the photos, its toned down and has a lot of light streaking through it. Its actually pretty dull and It has about 8 different washes, each altered slightly with clean turp to avoid pool lines and give direction.
The exhaust does look very porky though, I'll have to core it out with the #11. After messing with it a bit tonight, sitting down again on the monitor it looks like its in technicolor.

This is looking really good too Kevin, I am quite interested in the shade of green you've used, it looks very accurate to my eyes, I also really like the handpainted look to the white turret band, cant wait to see this one totally finished,

I have been perplexed at gettng decent Russian greens. The colors they offer as Russian armor colors always looks way off. Its funny how hard it is to get the certain 'look' of armor that probably had so many variations of colors from unit to unit. I have tons of green drab and all the OD greens (I always start with green drab and tweak it for various OD greens).
I took Biffa's lead and picked up some plain old Dark Green MM acryl and tweaked it with sand for the highlight coats, looked the part and was 'Russian' looking enough next to all the various OD stuff sitting around.
I have two T34/76's sitting unfinished because after spending a bunch of time with them, the greens never looked right. Both times I tried various 'Russian' armor colors. I'll have to go back and hit those again later.
I want to eventually do something Soviet post-war in that parade scheme with nearly black green paint and the white outlinded fenders and rims.

Well, according to Steve Zaloga and Cookie Sewell, researchers in Russia cite FS 34102 as a good match to the paint chip for wartime Russian 4BO Protective Green, and FS 34098 is a good match for the Cold War era color. Both are available as USAF camouflage colors in several paint lines. The wartime color would have varied due to the exigencies of the time, and of course you may want to lighten them for scale effect since these are matches to real size color samples.
